Get it ready
Empty and defrost the unit, secure or remove doors where the receiving site asks, and tell the attendant that the appliance holds refrigerant so it is handled correctly. Commercial and gas appliances carry an extra charge at the city event.

Minnetonka residents only. Electronics, construction debris, concrete, garbage, household hazardous waste, household and rechargeable batteries, liquids, mercury thermometers, printers, railroad ties and shingles are not accepted.

The county charges by item for tires, televisions, computer monitors and laptops, large appliances and mattresses, while other electronics, household hazardous waste, recycling and organics are accepted at no charge. Bring proof of residency.
Arrange it
Drive to the Hennepin County Recycling and Transfer Station at 8100 Jefferson Highway N. in Brooklyn Park, Tuesday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stay in your vehicle and carry items in the trunk, truck bed or a trailer.
Hennepin County households only, with proof of residency. Mattresses and box springs are accepted at the Brooklyn Park transfer station only. Furniture, carpet, construction materials, remodeling debris, wood, concrete and asphalt, yard waste and garbage are not accepted.
Household items that do not fit a cart, when you would rather not drive to a drop-off day or the county facility.

Yes. Dropcurb pickup is separate from buying or installing a replacement, so you can book removal on its own. If your new delivery is still ahead, confirm the retailer’s haul-away arrangements before booking a separate pickup.
