Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Construction and demolition debris

Not on the regular city route

Construction and building materials are refused in the city carts, and the city directs a homeowner to take them to the Buncombe County Landfill.

City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no construction charge and the county landfill page could not be read, so call Buncombe County at (828) 250-5460 and confirm the accepted material, the hours and the fee before hauling a load.
When & how
Take the material to the Buncombe County Landfill as the city directs, or arrange a private container, and call (828) 250-5460 first for the current hours and charge.
Get it ready
Keep bricks, cement, lumber, plaster, roofing material and sheet rock out of the roll carts, keep the load secure on the road, and separate clean material where it can be recovered.

Right item.
Right place.

What the city roll carts accept

Only bagged household trash goes in the 95 gallon carts the city issues, trash has to be out by 7 a.m. on the collection day, carts have to be at least five feet from obstacles and within two feet of the curb edge with the handle facing the house, and yard waste, brush, construction debris, auto parts and tires stay out of the carts.

For your Dropcurb pickup

Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Asheville collects trash, recycling and brush itself, with only bagged household trash in the city roll carts and bulky items, appliances, carpet and a one time large collection requested at (828) 251-1122 or through The Asheville App with the item at the curb by 7 a.m. on the scheduled day. Disposal the city will not take goes to Buncombe County: construction and building material and tires to the landfill at 85 Panther Branch Road with the county at (828) 250-5460, household hazardous waste to the county collection days at the same landfill with questions at (828) 250-5462, and sharps free to the transfer station at 190 Hominy Creek Road. County landfill and hazardous waste days

Buncombe County Landfill

85 Panther Branch Road, Asheville, NC

Household waste delivered by residents, household hazardous waste on the county collection days, construction and building material such as bricks, cement, lumber, plaster, roofing material and sheet rock that the city carts refuse, tires, and leaves and Christmas trees.

The county page could not be read from this environment, so the accepted material, the collection day calendar and any fee have to be confirmed by phone. The city states that hazardous waste disposal information and fees come from the county, and that leaves and a Christmas tree drop off carry a fee.

Confirm the current hours with Buncombe County at (828) 250-5460, with hazardous waste questions at (828) 250-5462.

The county publishes the fee schedule that the city points to and that page could not be read, so confirm the current charge at (828) 250-5460 or (828) 250-5462 before the trip.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Asheville.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Asheville?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Asheville?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Can construction debris go in the Asheville carts?

No. The city refuses construction and building materials such as bricks, cement, lumber, plaster, roofing material and sheet rock in the roll carts and tells homeowners to take them to the Buncombe County Landfill, with a note that a dumpster can be required instead. Call the landfill at (828) 250-5460 for the current hours, accepted material and fee.Official guidance
