Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Televisions, computers and anything with a circuit board leave on the town's four bulk and e-waste days, and Union County recycles household electronics free of charge at the landfill and at most residential centers.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Town of Indian Trail residential address on a bulk and e-waste day, or a Union County resident using the free county electronics programme at the landfill or a residential center other than White Store.
When & how
Town e-waste pickup happens in February, May, August and November on the regular recycling day, with items curbside by 7 a.m. and no appointment. County electronics drop-off runs at the landfill on weekdays and Saturday morning, and at the residential centers on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Get it ready
Keep e-waste in a separate pile from bulky waste because the town sends them out in different trucks, and wipe data from computers, phones and drives before handing them over. The county lists flat panel televisions and monitors of any size, so keep an older tube-style set for the town's e-waste pickup instead. Batteries, paint and anything holding fuel stay out of both piles.

Bulk pickup runs four times a year on your recycling day

Bulk and e-waste pickup happens in February, May, August and November, on the regular recycling day for the address, and the colour week comes from the subdivision recycling list. Everything has to be curbside by 7 a.m. that day, nothing is scheduled in advance, and the town asks households to call 704-821-5401 within 48 hours if the truck misses the pile.

Keep paint, tires and construction material out of the pile

Paint, tires and rims, batteries, construction material, hazardous waste and chemicals are refused at the curbside bulk pickup, and the leftovers from a contractor job or a significant home renovation are outside the programme. Break cardboard boxes down for the blue recycling cart rather than adding them to a bulk pile, because large boxes are not collected there.

For your Dropcurb pickup

Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Town of Indian Trail and Waste Connections

Indian Trail curbside bulk and e-waste pickup

A town household with furniture, a mattress, an appliance, electronics or another item too large for the beige garbage cart or the blue recycling cart.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Town of Indian Trail residential address with curbside solid waste service. The town publishes no fee for the four annual bulk and e-waste collections.
Arrange it
Set the items at the curb by 7 a.m. on the regular recycling day in February, May, August or November. Nothing is scheduled in advance, so confirm the recycling week colour with the town at 704-821-5401, and call Waste Connections at 704-708-5872 Option 5 with item questions.

Four collections a year only, five bulk items per household, no loose trash, clothing or small toys, no extra bags of household trash and no contractor or significant renovation debris. Paint, tires and rims, batteries, construction material, hazardous waste, dirt, concrete, drywall, roofing, pallets and yard waste are all refused at the curb.

Town of Indian Trail and Waste Connections

Union County free electronics recycling

A Union County household with a computer, monitor, printer, small appliance or household battery to drop off.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free for Union County residents at the landfill and at the residential centers, except that the White Store center does not accept electronics.
Arrange it
Drop the items at the landfill on Austin Chaney Road in Wingate during its open hours, or at one of the five residential centers on a Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. No appointment is published for household quantities.

Flat panel televisions and monitors are listed by size, and older tube-style sets are not named on the county list. Household material only, so business and contractor loads do not qualify, and the residential centers take only the materials on their own accepted list rather than mattresses, furniture or construction debris.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling from Indian Trail splits by material. Bulky household goods, including couches, mattresses, appliances and electronics, are set at the curb on one of the four town bulk and e-waste days rather than driven anywhere. Anything the town refuses has a county route: the landfill on Austin Chaney Road in Wingate takes construction and demolition debris, furniture, white goods, tires off the rim, scrap metal, yard waste and electronics, with recyclable material free and per-load rates for garbage, debris and yard waste. The five residential centers take recycling and e-waste free but not bulky material, and paint, solvents, gasoline and pesticides wait for the county's annual hazardous waste event. Cover the load before travelling, because an unsecured load is charged twice the normal fee, and confirm the load category at the scale. Union County Landfill

2125 Austin Chaney Road, Wingate, NC 28174

Mattresses, furniture and other bulky items, bagged household garbage, construction and demolition waste, yard waste, used motor oil and antifreeze for residents with a five gallon limit, used oil filters, electronics, white goods such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, tires off the rim, scrap metal, household recycling and cardboard.

Tires have to be off the rim and every load has to be covered, because an unsecured load is charged twice the normal fee. Large loads of cardboard are only accepted on weekdays. The published per-load rates cover garbage, construction and demolition debris and yard waste, and the county prints no separate rate for mattresses, white goods, tires or scrap metal.

Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Accepted recyclable material is free to county residents. Bagged garbage, construction and demolition debris and yard waste are charged by the load from a published starting rate for a car, pickup truck, SUV or van, with higher rates for trailers, flatbeds and box trucks. Ask the scale staff which category a load falls into before unloading.

The center's accepted list covers bagged household garbage, household recycling, used motor oil and oil filters, and e-waste only. The county routes mattresses, furniture and other bulky items, white goods, tires, scrap metal, construction and demolition debris and yard waste to the landfill in Wingate instead, and the White Store center accepts no electronics at all.

Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday only, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

No charge. Free for Union County residents for recycling services. Limited bagged household garbage is free under the county's Trash Pass programme, and a load that exceeds those limits is redirected to the landfill for a published per-load fee.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Indian Trail.

How much does TV removal cost in Indian Trail?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Indian Trail?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can I take a television in Indian Trail?

Televisions are collected on the town's four bulk and e-waste pickup days and stay out of the blue recycling cart. Union County recycles household electronics free at the landfill in Wingate and at most residential centers except White Store, but its published list names flat panel televisions and monitors of any size, so an older tube-style set is better routed through the town pickup.Official guidance

Who collects trash and recycling in Indian Trail?

The town contracts curbside solid waste collection with Waste Connections, which runs weekly trash and collects recyclables and yard waste on the same day in opposite weeks. Waste Connections answers item and missed pickup questions at 704-708-5872 Option 5, and the town office at 704-821-5401 handles new-home start-up and collection day lookups.Official guidance

How does the bulk and e-waste pickup work in Indian Trail?

It runs four times a year, in February, May, August and November, on the address's regular recycling day, and nothing is scheduled in advance. A household may set out up to five bulk items by 7 a.m., and bulky waste and e-waste have to be separated because they leave in different trucks.Official guidance
