When & how
Set the device at the curb the night before your e-waste and recycling day, or drop it off on a scheduled collection day or by appointment at the county landfill on Irish Potato Road or the household hazardous waste facility on General Services Drive.
Get it ready
Keep electronics out of the recycling cart, and take loose batteries to the county household hazardous waste route rather than setting them out with the device.
Place garbage, recycling, yard waste, bulky items, white goods and e-waste at the curb the night before your collection day, and remove empty containers no later than 7 a.m. the day after. Space carts, yard waste, furniture and bulky items five feet apart and five feet from parked cars, mailboxes, poles, guy wires and fences. Household hazardous waste such as paint, pesticides, brake fluid, gasoline, pool chemicals, oven cleaner, nail polish, fluorescent bulbs, deck cleaner and kerosene on the monthly drop-off days, and, whenever the site is open as a recycling convenience center, used motor oil and oil filters, any battery, antifreeze, cooking oil, electronics, cardboard, mixed paper, and appliances and scrap metal.
Residential household hazardous waste only, with no business, commercial or non-profit waste. Medical or infectious waste, radioactive waste, explosives and grill-sized propane tanks are prohibited, and pharmaceuticals and smoke detectors must not be brought here. Store material in its original labelled container, never mix chemicals and never use a trash bag.
