Every mattress has to be placed in a mattress bag before it goes out, and the city gives residents a limited number of bags each year at the solid waste office on Calhoun Street. That makes the bag the first step, not the pickup.

When & how

Up to two bags per household per year are available under the flyer rules, so a household with more pieces needs to plan across years or agree something different with the division.
Get it ready
