Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Neither the city nor the authority names exercise equipment, A machine is normally bulky waste too large for the container, which is the grappler category, and it can also go in a self-haul load at the transfer station rate, but neither is written down for a treadmill or a weight machine.

When & how
Confirm the route first, then set the machine out on the monthly grappler day or take it to the Amador Avenue Transfer Station, open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Get it ready
Break the machine down as far as it comes apart, remove or tape any battery pack, and keep the frame clear of the regular container. Tarp or secure a self-haul load, because an uncovered load may carry an additional charge at the gate.
Everything except the container waits for the monthly grappler day
The grappler service takes the waste that will not fit in the regular container, and it comes once a month on the household's normal trash pickup date rather than on demand. Residents look up their route and day on the Grappler Schedule or call 575-541-2111, and the published grappler line is 575-528-8068 with Spanish available.

No charge. City of Las Cruces residential customers on the city solid waste and grappler service, with the monthly grappler day included rather than sold as a separate pickup.

Look up the route and pickup day on the Grappler Schedule or call 575-541-2111, then put the material at the collection point on the monthly day that matches the normal trash pickup date. The published grappler line is 575-528-8068.
The service runs once a month rather than on demand, it covers bulky waste that will not fit the container, and it is a city service with the county referral for households outside the city. The city does not publish its item list in a readable form, so confirm anything that is not obviously bulky before it goes out.

A household hauling its own trash, bulky item or construction load that the grappler day does not cover.
Cost & conditions
From $8.36 per load at the published 2026 minimum tip fee, with a flat rate of 17.02 dollars per load and 68.05 dollars per ton at the Amador Avenue and Chaparral transfer stations, and an untarped or unsecured load may carry an additional charge. Residential self-haul loads delivered to an authority transfer station, priced by weight or at the flat rate. The Corralitos Landfill is not offered to households because the authority says access requires a solid waste account.
Arrange it
Take the load to the Amador Avenue Transfer Station at 2865 W. Amador, open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the last customer at 4:45 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with the last load at 3:45 p.m.
The authority does not provide household pickup itself, the landfill is not the household route, and a load that is not tarped or secured may cost more at the gate. Green and yard waste has its own size rules at the same site.

Residential solid waste drop-off including household trash, bulky items, construction and demolition debris, green and yard waste, and recyclables handled at the adjacent operations, with green waste accepted from residents and businesses and chipped into compost that is free to city residents.
The authority does not provide household pickup itself and this is a drop-off site. Green waste has size rules: tree limbs no longer than five feet and no more than five inches in diameter, palm trees under two feet, no dirt or sod, and yard waste taken out of plastic bags. An untarped or unsecured load may carry an additional charge.
