The local disposal guide

Will the city
take it?

Las Cruces does not ask a household to solve a large item on its own. City residential trash comes through the Las Cruces Utilities Solid Waste Department, and the same service carries grappler days: a bulk collection once a month on the normal trash pickup date for the waste that will not fit in the container. Everything else runs through the South Central Solid Waste Authority. The Las Cruces Recycling Center at 2855 W Amador is a free residential drop-off for household recyclables, glass, scrap metal, white goods, electronics and household hazardous waste, and the Amador Avenue Transfer Station takes self-haul trash at published gate rates. Electronics are the category with the clearest published boundary: data storing devices are free, while laptops, monitors and televisions carry a fee and a limit of three units per household a day. White goods are free unless the unit still holds refrigerant, in which case the center wants certified proof of removal or charges to take it. The county landfill at Corralitos is not the household route, because the authority says access needs a solid waste account.

Accepted with preparation
