City cost & eligibility
The bulk pickup is priced by WM at the time it is scheduled, based on the item and the volume, so no rate is published in advance. The self-haul alternative is the free monthly residential allowance at the Rio Rancho Landfill, with the gate rate applying to anything over the published weight allowance.

Book the pickup through My WM or with a WM agent and set the furniture out on the assigned day, or take the piece to the Rio Rancho Landfill during its open hours.

Bring a valid driver's license and a current Rio Rancho WM bill dated within the last 60 days or a receipt, with the address inside the city limits and matching the identification, and keep hazardous waste, Freon appliances, bulk liquids and business waste off the load.

Acceptance varies by area and the pickup covers bulk and heavy household items rather than a whole property cleanout. Construction waste, auto parts, tires, hazardous waste and electronic or medical waste are refused in the regular service, and hazardous waste has a separate collection route.

A valid driver's license and a current Rio Rancho WM bill dated within the last 60 days or a receipt showing the address inside the city limits are required, and the name or address on the bill has to match the identification.

Load the vehicle and drive to the Rio Rancho Landfill at 1132 Carpenter Street NE, open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., and present the identification at the scalehouse.

Open Sectional in the sofa choices, count its structural sections, and select any sleeper or reclining feature. Count the sections with their own bases, not loose cushions. Will you carry my couch out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. Arrange for the sofa to be moved through the apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load and haul it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange any dismantling needed to get it outside beforehand.
Do I need to wait at home for couch pickup?+
You do not need to be home when your booked sofa is outside and accessible. Add photos and pickup-location notes to your order so the right pieces are easy to identify. We send updates and completion photos. Confirm any building access restrictions with us before booking.
Can a couch go out with the regular trash?+
No. The curbside service is a cart service for bagged household trash, and WM lists sofas, furniture items and cabinets as bulk items that need their own pickup request. A Rio Rancho household can also use the free monthly load at the Rio Rancho Landfill instead.Official guidance
Who collects trash in Rio Rancho?+

The city selected WM as the residential provider, WM supplies the 96 gallon gray cart for weekly collection, and a household sets up its own WM profile so the service and the bill are in its own name.
