Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction, renovation and building material

Special rules apply

Bundled renovation material can ride the city large item collection, while dirt, rocks and concrete are refused and everything else goes over the county scale.

City cost & eligibility
From $8.5 for minimum load charge for a covered self-haul load at the Buckman Road transfer station, with the fee rising by vehicle weight class and heavier vehicles or vehicles with trailers charged per ton, or the first eight cubic yards of a booked city large item collection at the city volume rate. Santa Fe County waste only at the county facilities, no self dumping trailers at the transfer station, no load over 12,500 pounds gross vehicle weight, and every load meeting the size limits for wood, concrete and tree material; city large item collections are limited to city residential utility customers.
When & how
For the city route, bundle or containerize the material and add it to a large item collection booked at 505-955-2200, at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the appointment day. For the county route, take the load to the Buckman Road transfer station during its open hours, or to the Caja del Rio Landfill for cash customers Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Get it ready
Containerize or bundle loose debris, plywood, boards, sheet rock and broken tile, keep containers and bundles under 50 pounds, and keep dirt, rocks and concrete out of the city collection. Cut wood, lumber, plywood and fence material to four feet, concrete, asphalt, bricks and cinder blocks to two feet by two feet, tree trunks to eighteen inches in diameter and stumps to three feet in diameter before arriving at the county scale.

Weekly carts go out by 7 a.m. and come back the next morning

Every residence has one 96 gallon green trash cart and one 64 gallon blue recycling cart, collected weekly. Carts may go out as early as 6:00 p.m. the day before, must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the collection day, and have to be back off the curb by 8:00 a.m. the following day. They go out with the wheels facing the curb, the lid closed, and nothing stacked alongside, because overflow, blocked carts and carts facing the wrong way are not collected.

Large item material goes out only on the day it is booked

A large item collection is ordered at 505-955-2200, scheduled for the next available slot with no same-day service, and collected on a designated day, so the material sits at the curb by 7:00 a.m. that morning and not before. Loose debris, plywood, boards, sheet rock and broken tile are containerized or bundled under 50 pounds, sharp objects go in a separate labelled box, and the pile stays three to five feet clear of carts, mailboxes, fences, walls, meters and parked cars.

Trash is charged by vehicle weight class with a minimum load charge, appliances, televisions, monitors, tires, green waste and scrap metal have their own per unit or per ton rates, drop-off recycling is free, and a load that is not covered or secured draws an after-hours charge. Size limits apply to wood, concrete and tree material, and no self dumping trailer is allowed without an exception.

With a new purchase

Use a retailer or a reuse outlet for a working item

A household with a television, an appliance, scrap metal, building material or usable furniture that a store or donation center may take.

Cost & conditions
The listed outlets set their own terms: the county page says most companies charge a small fee to recycle a television or monitor, the fee table prices appliances and refrigerant appliances per unit, and reuse outlets such as the Habitat ReStore decide case by case, so confirm with the outlet before loading the vehicle.
Arrange it
Best Buy at 3533 Zafarano Dr #a6 takes televisions 32 inches or smaller; Mr. G's Recycling at 7625 Baca Ln takes computer monitors and appliances; Capital Scrap Metals at 1162 Cooks Lane takes appliances and scrap metal; the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 2520 Camino Entrada takes building materials, tools and home improvement items; and the county donation lists cover furniture, clothing and sporting equipment.

Best Buy's television limit is 32 inches, Mr. G's takes computer monitors only rather than televisions, the county transfer station is the only route with a published per unit rate for televisions and monitors, and reuse outlets can refuse worn or broken items.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Santa Fe.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Santa Fe?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Santa Fe?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

How do I dispose of renovation debris in Santa Fe?

Bundle the loose material and add it to a booked city large item collection at 505-955-2200, with containers and bundles under 50 pounds and out at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the appointment day. The city refuses dirt, rocks and concrete, so those loads go over the county scale at the Buckman Road transfer station instead, where trash is charged by vehicle weight with a minimum load charge, and the size limits are four feet for wood, two feet by two feet for concrete, eighteen inches for tree trunks and three feet for stumps.Official guidance

How do I book a large item pickup in Santa Fe?

Call the Environmental Services Division at 505-955-2200 and take the next available slot, because no same-day service is offered. The collection is charged by volume for the first eight cubic yards with each additional cubic yard charged after that and tax added, an account more than thirty days delinquent is not eligible, and a load larger than eight cubic yards is assessed and confirmed before it is collected. Can renovation debris go in a Santa Fe large item pickup?

Partly. Loose construction debris, plywood, boards, sheet rock and broken tile are allowed only if they are containerized or bundled in parcels under 50 pounds, and they ride the volume based large item collection booked at 505-955-2200. Dirt, rocks and concrete are refused at the curb, so those loads go over the county scale at the Buckman Road transfer station, where wood and lumber must be cut to four feet, concrete and asphalt to two feet by two feet, tree trunks to eighteen inches and stumps to three feet.Official guidance
