When & how
Drop electronics at the Buckman Road transfer station at 2600 Buckman Road, open Monday to Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and closed on the listed holidays. The city's drop-off recycling centers at 3184 Jemez Road and 2950 Agua Fria St take only glass, cardboard, mixed paper, plastic and cartons, so electronics do not belong there.
Get it ready
Erase stored data, keep power supplies and cables with the device, remove batteries where they come out easily, and keep cords and chargers out of the recycling cart, because electronic waste is banned from the landfill and the drop-off containers refuse it.
Weekly carts go out by 7 a.m. and come back the next morning
Every residence has one 96 gallon green trash cart and one 64 gallon blue recycling cart, collected weekly. Carts may go out as early as 6:00 p.m. the day before, must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the collection day, and have to be back off the curb by 8:00 a.m. the following day. They go out with the wheels facing the curb, the lid closed, and nothing stacked alongside, because overflow, blocked carts and carts facing the wrong way are not collected.

No self dumping trailers without an exception, no load over 12,500 pounds gross vehicle weight, size limits of four feet for wood and lumber, two feet by two feet for concrete, asphalt, bricks and cinder blocks, eighteen inches in diameter for tree trunks and three feet for stumps, an extra charge for an uncovered or unsecured load, and household hazardous waste must never be left at the center when it is closed.
