Brick, block and concrete are clean fill and are never collected.

Load the vehicle, cover the load, bring proof of Broome County residency and cash or a check, and drive to 286 Knapp Road during scale hours.
Broome County residents only, no out of county waste, credit cards are not accepted, and the scale closes at 2:45 p.m. on weekdays and 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
The self-haul route out of Binghamton is the Broome County Landfill at 286 Knapp Road, open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The county takes household garbage, construction and demolition debris, bulk metals, clean fill, yard waste, tires and refrigerant units, charges by weight with a minimum load fee, and requires proof that the load came from a Broome County resident. Loads have to be covered, an uncovered load adds a charge, and the scale takes cash or a check. The landfill takes construction and demolition debris, clean fill and aggregate, tree trunks and stumps, and bulk metals.
Construction and demolition debris is charged by weight, and friable asbestos and contaminated soil have to be arranged by phone rather than brought to the scale. Loads have to be covered.
