Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named anywhere in the village rules, even though the bulk definition is written by size and handling rather than by item. A treadmill is the kind of piece that would meet the size test, so the route to ask about is bulk day, but the village has to confirm it first.
City cost & eligibility
No exercise machine appears in the village rules and no price is published. Call Public Works on (516) 377-2289, describe the machine and its size, and confirm that it will be collected on the second collection day inside the six item weekly bulk limit before it goes to the curb.

Get it ready
Take the machine apart as far as it comes apart, keep the frame, deck and console parts together, tape the loose cables, and count it against the six item weekly bulk limit if it does go out.
The village collects bulk material once a week on the second collection day, with no appointment and no fee, and the test is size and handling: larger than two feet by two feet by four feet and beyond what two workers can lift. Each address is limited to six bulk items and pails of construction debris each week, so a household clearing several rooms should plan the order rather than putting everything out at once.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
