Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

City cost & eligibility
Neither the city's curbside pages nor the county's bulky guidance names an exercise machine, so call the county at 607-273-6632 and confirm whether the machine is taken as a weighed load at the Recycling and Solid Waste Center and what it costs.
When & how
Call the county first, and if the machine is accepted take it to the Recycling and Solid Waste Center with the permit displayed.
Get it ready
Break the machine down where you can, keep it out of the curbside trash bags, remove any battery, and load it so it can be weighed.
Every can or bag needs a tag, and crews start at 4 a.m.
Trash tags are required to pay for collection at six dollars each, or 36 dollars per sheet, and each tag covers up to 35 pounds. One tag goes on every can or bag, cans holding several bags may not exceed 70 pounds, and no container may exceed 32 gallons or 70 pounds when filled. Trash goes at the curb the night before the collection day because crews begin at 4 a.m., and all tag sales are final.
Yard waste runs on the opposite weeks and needs its own tag
Yard waste collection runs from April into November on the weeks opposite recycling and on the same day as trash but later in the day, and a one and a half dollar tag is required for each can, bag or bundle. Only natural material from the resident's property counts, paper bags or open cans without lids are used, plastic bags are refused and a rejected plastic bag draws a special collection fee of 20 dollars plus weight, brush is tied in bundles no longer than four feet, branches may not exceed two inches in diameter, and nothing may weigh more than 50 pounds.

Use the city curbside trash and yard waste collection

Cost & conditions
$6 per trash tag, which covers up to 35 pounds of trash, with tags sold at 36 dollars per sheet of six and yard waste tags at one and a half dollars each. City of Ithaca residents, with one tag required for every can or bag, containers limited to 32 gallons and 70 pounds when filled, and a one and a half dollar tag for each yard waste can, bag or bundle.
Arrange it
Buy tags at City Hall or one of the listed retailers, put the trash at the curb the night before the collection day, and put yard waste out in paper bags or open cans on the weeks opposite recycling.
Crews begin at 4 a.m., tag sales are final, plastic bags are refused for yard waste with a special collection fee of 20 dollars plus weight for a rejected bag, and apartments and commercial properties may have their own arrangements.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.

Who collects trash in Ithaca?+
