The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

The City routes televisions by size: heavy TVs use a bulky appointment, while qualifying lighter TVs use regular collection.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Eligible residential locations inside Cincinnati where a City truck provides weekly garbage collection; 311 determines whether the TV uses bulky or regular collection.
When & how
Ask 311 which route applies. The City guide places TVs over 45 pounds on bulky collection and lighter TVs on regular collection.
Get it ready
Give the screen type, weight, dimensions and condition. Tape glass as instructed and keep the set accessible without stacking garbage against it.
Place scheduled items at the curb no earlier than 5 p.m. the prior day and by 6 a.m. on collection day. Keep the loading path clear of low wires, branches, parked cars and other obstructions. When practical, use the driveway apron. Do not stack garbage against the items.
Use the regular route only for qualifying small items
Keep household garbage in the approved cart. Up to three qualifying small items may sit beside it on the regular collection day. If an item exceeds the current size or weight limits, schedule bulky collection instead.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Does my old TV have to work?+
Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
Does every television need a bulky-item appointment?+

The address must be inside Cincinnati and receive weekly garbage pickup from a City truck. The service is generally for eligible single-family homes and residential-only buildings with four or fewer units.
