Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Not on the regular city route

Electronics are not part of the curbside route. The district office on Shawnee Road takes them by appointment during a spring to fall season and publishes a per television price, and two Goodwill stores in Lima are the year round alternative.

City cost & eligibility
From $20 per television or cathode ray tube set 32 inches and below at the district office, with flat panel sets 42 inches and larger at a higher published price and console televisions in wood cabinets higher again. Computers, laptops, computer components, printers, scanners, cell phones, microwaves and most other electronics carry no charge at the district office. The service is by appointment only and the collection season runs mid-April to mid-October.
When & how
Call the district at 800-553-6763 to book an appointment during the season, or bring computers and small electronics to the Goodwill stores on Harding Highway or Cable Road, which are open year round.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers, laptops and phones before handover, and keep the cords and cables with the device. Do not put electronics or batteries in the blue recycling container, which accepts only plastics number 1 and 2, metal cans, glass, paper and cardboard.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self haul in Lima means the city transfer station on Metcalf Street or a district program on Shawnee Road. Residents may bring approved material to the Transfer and Recycling Facility at no charge, including three cubic yards every three months of brick, broken concrete, wood, plaster, rock and waste building material and up to four used passenger car tires a year, and they must show a paid utility bill with identification at the station during the published hours. Televisions, computers and other electronics go instead to the North Central Ohio Solid Waste District office at 815 Shawnee Road, Suite D, by appointment during a collection season that runs mid-April to mid-October, with a published per television price and no charge for computers and most other devices. Household chemicals such as gasoline, antifreeze, waste oil, fertilizer, paint and lead acid batteries also go to that office, by appointment through 419-228-8278 and at a published per pound charge. Appliances can be delivered to the scrap metal recycler the district lists on East 4th Street after calling ahead, and the city refuses auto parts, paint, oil, free flowing liquids, rocks and dirt at the curb. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Lima.

How much does TV removal cost in Lima?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Lima?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
