The local disposal guide

Large items go out through the hauler's bulk service, which takes mattresses, box springs, furniture, appliances and house fixtures when the request reaches Kimble 48 hours before the scheduled pickup day, and which many customers may use for one item a month at no extra charge. The city warns that batteries, tires and certain chemicals are illegal in the residential waste stream, and that only glass, metal canisters and paper can be processed in this part of Ohio. Everything else that cannot go in a cart runs through the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Joint Solid Waste District, which takes appliances, electronics, household hazardous waste, scrap metal and tires by appointment at the Canton Recycle Center for residents of Stark, Tuscarawas and Wayne counties, limits tires to passenger and light truck sizes at 10 per person per year, and lists a compost site in Wooster that can accept food waste.
