Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Edmond collects electronics through the doorside household hazardous waste program it runs with Republic Services, and televisions and computers are named in that service. Each household can schedule unlimited collections a year at no separate charge.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. The doorside household hazardous waste and electronics collection is included in the regular monthly residential solid waste fee, and each household is entitled to unlimited scheduled collections per calendar year. No separate charge is published for the collection.
When & how
Call the collection hotline at 405-745-4141 or sign up online to request a collection, then schedule a date. A collection kit is shipped to the address and the technician collects and sorts the material from the home on the scheduled day.
Get it ready
Order the kit first, because everything has to be packed into it and a load that will not fit needs a call to the hotline to discuss options. Bagged trash is not the route for this material, and light bulbs and batteries are refused in the curbside recycling cart.

City of Edmond Solid Waste Services

Schedule a doorside electronics and chemical collection

A household with televisions, computers or other electronics, or with household chemicals such as gasoline, poisons, pesticides and aerosols.

Cost & conditions
No charge. The doorside household hazardous waste and electronics collection is included in the regular monthly residential solid waste fee, and each household is entitled to unlimited scheduled collections per calendar year.
Arrange it
Call the collection hotline at 405-745-4141 or sign up online, schedule a date, and wait for the collection kit to arrive before packing the material for the technician.

The material has to fit in the supplied kit, and a larger amount needs a call to the hotline to discuss options. Batteries and light bulbs are not accepted in curbside recycling, and the city asks that every item be labelled.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self haul in Edmond means the Edmond Transfer Station on Recycle Trail, where residents take bulky items that will not fit the cart. Bring a recent City of Edmond solid waste bill and a driver's licence that matches the address, because the discounted rate applies to the primary residence rather than to a business or a rental, and pay by MasterCard or Visa since cash and cheques are not taken. The site is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, with drop-offs closing 30 minutes before the end of the day. Cardboard, number 1 and 2 plastics and aluminum drop off at no charge with the same proof of residency. Several things cannot be brought at all, including hazardous waste, liquids, paints, pesticides, fuels and oils, anything that has or once held refrigerant, fluorescent bulbs, wood or metal longer than five feet, bricks, rocks, dirt and cement, railroad ties, batteries and insulation, and construction debris has no city route in Edmond at all. Appliances need the compressor removed and the removal verification form presented. For household chemicals, Edmond residents may instead use the Oklahoma City household chemical facility on South Portland Avenue with a driver's licence and a current utility statement, and televisions and computers leave the house through the doorside collection kit program rather than either drop-off site.
