The last few things still deserve a pickup.
You have decided what is going. Now give those bags and boxes a pickup day, with a price you can see before anyone arrives.
The move is nearly done.
Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
The clear-out can be finished.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.
You want to know it is handled.
When the next collection does not fit your plans, choose a Dropcurb pickup day. Updates keep you informed, and completion photos show when the booked items are gone.
A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Filled bags and boxes
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard and containers
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Furniture and other larger items
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

Furniture is not a curbside item on its own. A household either asks the licensed hauler about a pickup or loads the piece and takes it to Knott Landfill, where a household load is weighed at the county minimum plus a rate for every additional 100 pounds.
City cost & eligibility
From $30 for for a household garbage or construction load up to 500 pounds at Knott Landfill or a transfer station, with 5.00 for each additional 100 pounds and a 10.00 rebate for a load that arrives properly covered and secured. Any household delivering its own load to Knott Landfill or a county transfer station, paid by cash, check, debit or credit card or mobile pay at every site except Alfalfa, which takes cash and check only.
When & how
Knott Landfill is open to the public seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the transfer stations keep shorter weekday windows.
Get it ready
Cover and secure the load before you drive, because the county rebates a compliant load under its ordinance. Keep appliances, tires, yard debris and wood separate so each one can be priced at the right rate, and ask the hauler about a curbside pickup if you would rather not haul it.
Oregon runs a statewide mattress recycling programme, and Deschutes Recycling on the Knott Landfill property takes residential mattresses and box springs four per day, seven days a week. Condition rules are strict, and several bed types are turned away.
City cost & eligibility
The state programme charges a recycling assessment on every mattress and box spring at the point of purchase, and the county publishes no drop-off price for the Deschutes Recycling collection, so confirm any charge at 541-388-1910 before loading the bed.
When & how
Deschutes Recycling takes mattresses seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed on holidays, with a limit of four mattresses per day.
Get it ready
Keep the bed out of the weather and free of mud and stains. Box springs need a fabric cover, and the site refuses severe mold, bed bugs, excessive stains, fire damage, damaged beds, air mattresses, car beds and sofa beds, futons, crib mattresses, pillows and cushions, loose bedding, mattress pads and toppers, metal bed frames, sleeping bags and water beds.
Curbside collection in Bend comes from one of the two licensed haulers the county names, Cascade Disposal and Republic Services, and yard debris and food scrap service is available inside city limits only. Self-haul loads go to Knott Landfill or the nearest transfer station.
City cost & eligibility
From $30 for for a self-hauled household load up to 500 pounds at Knott Landfill or a transfer station, with 5.00 for each additional 100 pounds and a 10.00 rebate for a covered and secured load. Households using the county disposal sites. Curbside service rates are set by the licensed hauler and are not published on the county pages read.
When & how
Knott Landfill is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the transfer stations keep shorter windows, with Negus and the Southwest station Monday to Saturday and Alfalfa on Saturdays only.
Get it ready
Cover and secure every load, separate recyclables from garbage so they can be dropped first, and keep hazardous material out of the household load because the rural transfer stations do not accept it and it belongs at the Knott Landfill hazardous waste facility on Fridays and Saturdays.
Self-haul loads are weighed, and a secured load earns a rebate
Knott Landfill and the transfer stations charge household garbage and construction debris at $30 for the first 500 pounds plus $5 for each additional 100 pounds, and the county gives a $10 rebate for a load that arrives properly covered and secured under County Ordinance 13.36.040. Cash, check, debit or credit card and mobile pay work at every site except Alfalfa, which takes cash and check only, and recyclables should ride in the vehicle last so they can be dropped off first.
Knott is open daily, the transfer stations are not
Knott Landfill Recycling and Transfer Facility on Southeast 27th Street is open to the public seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., which makes it the reliable option for a weekend trip. Negus in Redmond and the Southwest station in La Pine run Monday to Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Northwest station near Sisters runs Wednesday to Saturday, and Alfalfa opens on Saturdays only, so check the day before a long drive.
Hazardous material stays out of the household load
The rural transfer stations do not accept hazardous waste at all. Residential hazardous material is accepted free at the Knott Landfill Hazardous Waste Facility on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., covering paints and stains, solvents, fuels, antifreeze, aerosols, cleaners, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, batteries, fluorescent tubes and bulbs, propane tanks, pool and spa chemicals, thermometers and mercury thermostats. Lead acid batteries are free at every transfer station, and alkaline dry cell batteries can go in the regular garbage.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
