Get it ready
Wipe personal data from a computer, laptop, tablet or phone before handover, and keep electronics out of the garbage and the recycling cart. The state programme counts items rather than weight, so seven devices at a time is the practical limit on a single trip.
Book the bulky pickup with the company that runs the route
Cedar Mill is unincorporated, so the bulky item pickup comes from whichever licensed collection company serves the address. The county publishes the categories and the structure of the charge, a flat collection charge plus a charge for each item, and asks residents to call the company for the cost estimate. Tires and televisions are bulky items, not garbage
Two items that often end up beside the cart are handled in the bulky service instead. The county lists televisions in the bulky item electronics category and states that the pickup covers tires and televisions that must not be thrown in the garbage, and it prices automotive tires without rims in the same table.
Metro asks customers to separate material and cover the load before arriving because a separated and covered load pays a lower rate. The transfer station charges a minimum for loads up to 240 pounds and then a proportion of the per-ton fee, with a transaction fee added at the scale, and material left behind is the customer's responsibility with fines that can exceed three thousand dollars.
