Mattress & bed removal in Coos BayCity collection No city, county or hauler page retained here names a mattress or a box spring, and the county schedule prices furniture by size without stating whether a mattress falls in that category. The route is therefore a confirmation: the hauler's scheduled bulky pick-up, or the county transfer site once the attendant confirms how the piece is priced. No mattress rate is published, so confirm first. Call Les' Sanitary at (541) 267-2848 about a scheduled bulky pick-up with its trip charge and fees, or call the county transfer site at 541-396-7620 and ask how a mattress is priced against the published furniture schedule, which lists small furniture and large furniture separately.

Appliance pickup in Coos BayCity collection The county transfer site takes appliances with the rates published on its schedule: a refrigerator, a freezer or an air conditioner at one rate each and any other appliance at a lower rate each. The same schedule states that appliance fees are waived until further notice, which is why the amount in force is confirmed at the booth. From $8.5 per other appliance at the county Beaver Hill Transfer Site, with a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner at $22.00 each on the same schedule, which also states that appliance fees are waived until further notice. Bags & household clutter in Coos BayCity collection The city names Les' Sanitary Service and Coos Bay Sanitary as the solid waste and recycling haulers for Coos Bay, and curbside recycling bins are provided with garbage service. The hauler publishes four cart sizes, states that garbage charges are based on container size, and asks for carts at the curb the night before collection with clear space around them for an automated arm. The city and the haulers publish no curbside rate, only the statement that charges follow container size, so confirm the monthly amount for the cart you need with Les' Sanitary at (541) 267-2848 or with the city at (541) 269-8912. A household that hauls its own load instead pays the county transfer site by the published fee schedule.

The local disposal guide
Coos Bay has no municipal collection: the city's own recycle page names Les' Sanitary Service and Coos Bay Sanitary as the solid waste and recycling haulers serving the city, curbside recycling bins come with garbage service, and there is a drop-off station on South First Street for a small fee. Curbside charges follow the size of the cart, and the bulky route is a scheduled special pick-up through the hauler with a trip charge and fees that are not published. The county fills in the pricing, because its Beaver Hill Transfer Site on Highway 101 between Coos Bay and Bandon publishes a full fee schedule: bags by the can, household garbage by the loose cubic yard, heavy loads by the ton, and separate rates for furniture, appliances, tires, construction debris, brush, recycling, motor oil, batteries, paint under the Oregon PaintCare program and electronics under Oregon E-Cycles with a seven item limit. Computers, monitors and televisions also carry the state disposal ban, so a screen never goes in the cart.

The city names Les' Sanitary Service and Coos Bay Sanitary as the solid waste and recycling haulers for Coos Bay, and curbside recycling bins are provided with garbage service. The hauler publishes four cart sizes, states that garbage charges are based on container size, and asks for carts at the curb the night before collection with clear space around them for an automated arm.
The hauler schedules a one-time pick-up when a household has bulky items, and states that a trip charge and fees apply. An extra bag can also go out on the route day: the collector notes it and the hauler bills it at the end of the month.
Furniture is priced by size at the county transfer site, and a household can also put a piece on the hauler's scheduled special pick-up. The county schedule lists small furniture and toilets at one rate per piece and large furniture at a higher rate per piece.
No city, county or hauler page retained here names a mattress or a box spring, and the county schedule prices furniture by size without stating whether a mattress falls in that category. The route is therefore a confirmation: the hauler's scheduled bulky pick-up, or the county transfer site once the attendant confirms how the piece is priced.
The county transfer site takes appliances with the rates published on its schedule: a refrigerator, a freezer or an air conditioner at one rate each and any other appliance at a lower rate each. The same schedule states that appliance fees are waived until further notice, which is why the amount in force is confirmed at the booth.
Electronics are recycled under the Oregon E-Cycles program, which the county runs at the Beaver Hill Transfer Site with no charge and a limit of seven items, and the hauler's transfer depot takes televisions, computers, monitors, laptops, keyboards, mice and printers at no charge as well. Computers, monitors and televisions are banned from disposal in Oregon, so they cannot go in the garbage, the recycling bin or the curbside collection.
Tires are priced at the county transfer site by rim and by size, with a per ton rate once a load goes over twenty tires, and the hauler's transfer depot also accepts tires for a fee. Tires are not a curbside item.
The county transfer site takes construction and demolition debris by the loose cubic yard with a per ton rate for a heavy load, and prices clean brush and untreated wood separately with restrictions on stumps, root wads, large branches and dirt. Construction material is not part of the curbside cart service.
Yard waste is prohibited from the garbage container and runs as its own service or as a load of clean green at a transfer station. The hauler publishes what may and may not go into yard waste, with bundle limits of four feet in length and two feet in diameter.
Curbside recycling bins are provided with garbage service inside the city limits and many urban growth boundary areas, using a blue bin for paper, plastic, cans and glass and a yellow glass-only bin for a household whose bin is regularly full. The county transfer site takes the same material through its recycling building at a drop-off rate.
The county holds free household hazardous waste collection events for Coos and Curry County residents, with the published date of Saturday, September 19, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Beaver Hill Transfer Site. Paint covered by the Oregon PaintCare program is accepted at Beaver Hill at any time, so those items do not have to wait for an event.
Exercise equipment is not named by the city, the county or the hauler. The nearest published routes are the hauler's scheduled bulky pick-up and the county transfer site, so a treadmill or a weight machine is confirmed before it moves.
The handoff matters
Set the carts out the night before collection on either side of the driveway at the curb, wheels close to the curb, lids opening toward the street and lids closed completely, with at least three feet of clearance on all sides and at least six feet from any vehicle. Computers and televisions, motor oil, hazardous waste, needles, yard waste, hot ashes, dead animals, loose cat litter, unbagged packing pellets and concrete, rocks or dirt never go in the garbage cart.

A special pick-up is a one-time collection with a trip charge and fees, and the amount is confirmed on the call. Bring the load between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from Tuesday through Saturday, expect the charge to follow volume or weight whichever is higher, and keep paint in the PaintCare stream and household chemicals for a collection event.
