A mattress is a bulky item on the same on-call hauler service, priced with the county minimum and maximum plus weight.
City cost & eligibility
From $5 per bulky waste pickup through the franchised garbage and recycling company, with a published maximum charge and extra fees based on weight and any special handling. Address in unincorporated Clackamas County served by the franchised hauler for that fee zone, including households that are not regular customers.
When & how
Call the franchised hauler for the address, arrange the pickup and confirm what the load will cost before it goes out.
Get it ready
Keep the mattress dry and place it where the crew can lift it without a long carry. Count a box spring as a second piece, because the county prices bulky loads by weight and handling rather than per named item.
Bulky items are an on-call pickup, not a curbside habit
There is no city bulk calendar here. The franchised garbage and recycling company for the address arranges bulky pickups on call, and the county prices them with a minimum and maximum charge plus weight and handling, so the price is confirmed on the call rather than published per item. The county states that a large appliance or piece of furniture can be collected even for a household that is not a regular customer.
Collection fees in unincorporated Clackamas County are set by fee zone rather than by one county-wide number. The county asks residents to look up their address on Clackamas Maps, open Utilities and Districts, and read the fee zone listed under Sanitary Hauler, then check that zone page for the services and fees. If no fee zone appears, the address is inside a city that sets its own rates.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

On-call bulky pickup from the franchised hauler
A household in the Damascus area with furniture, a mattress, an appliance or another bulky item that will not fit the regular cart.
Cost & conditions
From $5 for bulky waste pickup for items such as appliances and furniture, with a published maximum charge and extra fees based on weight and any special handling. Address in unincorporated Clackamas County served by the franchised garbage and recycling company for that fee zone, including households that are not regular customers.
Arrange it
Call the franchised hauler for the address, describe the items and the access, and confirm the charge before the pickup. An hourly handling fee applies when the item is not easily accessible.
Priced by the county minimum and maximum plus weight and handling rather than per item, and a unit containing refrigerant carries the separate coolant removal charge that applies even if the refrigerant has already been removed. Chemicals, paint, batteries, bulbs and electronics are not part of a bulky pickup.
A Damascus address is served as unincorporated Clackamas County rather than by a city department, and that changes what a household has to do. Bulky items are an on call pickup from the franchised hauler for the fee zone, priced with the county minimum and maximum plus weight and handling, and a unit holding refrigerant also carries the coolant removal charge that applies even when the refrigerant has already been removed. A household that prefers to drive can use the county transfer station in Sandy or the Metro South transfer station in Oregon City, both of which ask for a call before travelling. Electronics have their own free route through Oregon E-Cycles, and anything hazardous, from paint and solvents to batteries, bulbs and propane, belongs at the Metro household hazardous waste facility in Oregon City, which is free for households, open daily and limited to 35 gallons. County transfer station and recycling depot
Clackamas County Garbage and Recycling Transfer Station
19600 SE Canyon Valley Rd, Sandy, OR
Accepted curbside recycling, large and small appliances, scrap metal, tires, and televisions, monitors and computers, according to the county depot listing, plus the household garbage and yard debris a transfer station normally takes.
Construction, demolition and remodeling debris may need Oregon asbestos testing and documentation before disposal, and suspect asbestos containing material is refused without it. Household hazardous waste is taken at the Metro facility in Oregon City rather than here, and the county asks residents to call ahead because facilities may close during extreme weather.
Thursday through Monday from 9 a.m. to a last load at 4:30 p.m., closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day and closing at 1 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Telephone 503-260-1577.
The county does not publish a single gate rate for a self hauled load at this site, so confirm the accepted material and the charge by telephone before loading.

Before you book
A few things worth knowing.
Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Damascus.
How much does mattress removal cost in Damascus?+
The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.
Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Damascus?+
Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.
Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?+
The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.
Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.
Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?+
You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.
How does a mattress leave a Damascus address?+
Through the franchised hauler, which the county lists for bulky waste pickups of appliances and furniture and which will collect a large item even for a household that is not a regular customer. Call the hauler first, because the county sets a minimum and maximum charge with weight and handling added.Official guidance
Who handles garbage in the Damascus area?+
There is no city programme, because Damascus is unincorporated. Clackamas County sets the fees and service standards for the franchised garbage and recycling companies in unincorporated county territory, and the assigned company depends on the fee zone for the address. The county's Sustainability and Solid Waste office answers at 503-557-6363 and wasteinfo@clackamas.us.Official guidance
How is a bulky item pickup arranged here?+
Call the franchised garbage and recycling company for the address and arrange it on call. The county prices bulky waste such as appliances and furniture with a minimum and a maximum charge plus weight and special handling, adds an hourly handling charge when the item is not easily accessible, and states that a large appliance or piece of furniture can be collected even for a household that is not a regular customer.Official guidance
