Its bulky list includes couches, mattresses, appliances, lawnmowers, furniture, televisions, tires, toilets, recliners and water heaters, and the company also offers on-call collection, drop boxes and temporary containers. Ask for the rate for your address, because Pride serves seven jurisdictions with different rates.

Metro takes household hazardous waste free from households at its Portland facility on Northwest 61st Avenue, open Monday to Saturday, and qualifying businesses must apply, book an appointment and pay a fee. Household batteries can be recycled with glass recycling in Pride's jurisdictions.
