Items go where the carts normally sit by 4 a.m. on the collection day, no call ahead is needed, and more than one truck works the neighborhood because appliances, tires and other materials ride separately. The set-out cannot exceed the equivalent of five garbage bags or one couch.
The event is limited to single-family residents with current solid waste service inside Milwaukie city limits. Residents of multifamily units and commercial account holders cannot take part and need a hauler pickup or a Metro transfer station trip instead.
