Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Bulky waste day and oversized items

Accepted with preparation

The City runs one free curbside bulky waste collection each June for single-family homes, with a five bag or one couch limit and a published item list.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included for single-family residents with current solid waste service inside Milwaukie city limits, with costs covered by the garbage and recycling fees the City Council sets. Residents of multifamily units and commercial account holders are not eligible.
When & how
The collection runs on the second and third Saturday of June, June 13 and June 20 in 2026, with the weekend fixed by address. Items go out by 4 a.m. and no call ahead is needed.
Get it ready
Bag smaller items up to 30 pounds, tie long loose items such as lumber, blinds, pipes, brooms and mops into bundles no longer than six feet and 30 pounds, roll and tie carpet to the same limits, bag styrofoam, and keep loose piles out of the set-out. Everything collected is treated as garbage and landfilled, so donation, reuse and recycling come first.

Hazardous waste goes to Metro with limits

Metro takes household hazardous waste free with a daily limit of 35 gallons measured by container size, and businesses need a permit, an appointment and a fee. Products stay upright in sturdy boxes with lids secured, leaking containers go into zip top bags, bulbs are wrapped rather than taped, and electric vehicle batteries, most explosives, very large containers and radioactive material are refused.

Cost & conditions
From $34.72 per month for the smallest published residential can service, with recycling and yard debris included in the weekly collection rate. Arrange it
Contact the hauler that serves the address to start service, and use that company for missed collections, carts and pickup scheduling.

The City cannot schedule or resolve a missed pickup, and it directs residents to their hauler instead. The June bulky waste day is the only bulky route included in the rates.

Arrange it

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Milwaukie.

How much does TV removal cost in Milwaukie?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Milwaukie?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where does a Milwaukie television go?

To Oregon E-Cycles, which recycles televisions free when seven or fewer items are brought at one time to a participating site, or to a Metro transfer station, which accepts televisions and computers free within the same seven item daily limit. Televisions cannot go out on the June bulky waste day.Official guidance

Is there a limit on free electronics recycling in Oregon?

Yes. Oregon E-Cycles is free for seven or fewer computers, laptops, tablets, monitors, televisions and printers at a time, and Metro applies the same seven item per day limit at its transfer stations. Other types of electronics are not part of the state program.Official guidance

How much can go out on Milwaukie's bulky waste day?

The set-out is limited to the equivalent of five garbage bags or one couch, with smaller items, styrofoam, carpet and long loose items each bagged or bundled under 30 pounds and no longer than six feet, and no more than six tires without rims.Official guidance

Is the bulky waste day a recycling event?

No. The City states that it is not a recycling event and that everything collected is treated as garbage and sent to a landfill, so residents are asked to consider donation, reuse or recycling first.Official guidance

What does Milwaukie charge for a bulky pickup?

The June bulky waste day costs nothing beyond the garbage and recycling rates the City Council sets, inside the five bag or one couch limit for eligible single-family addresses. A pickup at any other time of year uses the published hauler range for furniture and recyclable appliances, with a freon removal charge where refrigerant is involved and per tire rates for tires.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Milwaukie and how do I reach them?

Three franchised haulers serve the city: Waste Management on 800.808.5901, Hoodview Disposal on 503.668.8300 and Clackamas Garbage on 503.656.9633. A household starts service, schedules pickups and reports missed collections with the company that serves its address, because City staff cannot schedule or resolve a missed pickup.Official guidance

What will the bulky waste day leave at the curb?

Refrigerators and appliances containing freon, televisions and computers, construction debris, daily garbage, paint and hazardous waste, fluorescent fixtures and bulbs, propane tanks, engines, broken glass, glass larger than two by four feet, plate glass, rocks and roofing materials are all ineligible, and anything outside the quantity or weight limits stays behind as well.Official guidance
