Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Right item.
Right place.

Keep these out of the carts

Lake Oswego publishes a specific list of items that cannot go in the trash cart: paint, motor oil, batteries, all electronics, CFL and LED bulbs, prescription medications, tires, furniture and mattresses, and yard debris. Paint can go to Sherwin Williams or Miller Paint, motor oil goes beside the glass bin in a clearly labelled screw-top container of up to one gallon, electronics go to Oregon E-Cycles, and the rest go to a bulky waste haul or a hazardous waste facility.

Take the screens and computers to Oregon E-Cycles

A Lake Oswego household with a computer, monitor, television or printer, or with keyboards and mice.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free of charge at participating Oregon E-Cycles collection sites for up to seven computers, monitors, televisions or printers at a time, plus computer peripherals such as keyboards and mice. Unlisted electronics are not part of the programme.
Arrange it
Find a participating collection site through the Oregon E-Cycles page and drop the devices off there. Keep electronics out of the carts until then.

Other types of electronics are not included in the programme, and electronics are on the city's list of items that must stay out of the trash cart.

Find an E-Cycles site

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Lake Oswego is a franchise city, so self-haul in this packet means calling Republic Services at 503-636-3011 rather than driving to a city site. Furniture and mattresses are barred from the trash cart and leave on a bulky waste haul that Republic Services charges by yardage and special handling, and electronics are barred from the trash cart as well and go free to a participating Oregon E-Cycles site, up to seven computers, monitors, televisions or printers at a time with keyboards and mice also free. Paint can go to Sherwin Williams or Miller Paint, motor oil is set out beside the glass bin in a labelled screw-top container of up to one gallon, and household chemicals go to a hazardous waste facility through Clackamas County, which points to Metro's Oregon City site for up to 35 gallons. Construction debris has no published city route, so the transfer stations the city links through Clackamas County or a hauler found through Metro's Find a Recycler tool are the practical destinations. Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?
