Finish clearing the space
The last few things still deserve a pickup.
You have decided what is going. Now give those bags and boxes a pickup day, with a price you can see before anyone arrives.
The move is nearly done.
Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
The clear-out can be finished.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.
You want to know it is handled.
When the next collection does not fit your plans, choose a Dropcurb pickup day. Updates keep you informed, and completion photos show when the booked items are gone.
A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Filled bags and boxes
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard and containers
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Furniture and other larger items
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

Furniture is priced item by item on the schedule the City Commission adopts for the franchisee, so a couch is arranged as a bulky pickup rather than left beside the cart.
City cost & eligibility
$16.5 for for a couch on the franchisee bulky item list, with a chair at 15.00 and a file cabinet at 8.25, and an inside pickup adding 5.50 plus 9.90 for each flight of stairs. Oregon City addresses served by the franchisee, Oregon City Garbage Company, at rates set by the City Commission as the maximum chargeable.
When & how
Arrange the bulky pickup with the franchisee rather than with the city, because the schedule is published as the maximum rate the franchisee may charge rather than as a city service.
Get it ready
Confirm the item and any inside pickup before the collection, keep the piece clear of the cart, and expect the stair charge for every flight above the ground floor.
Appliances are a single line on the bulky item list, and a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner is charged at double that price because of the refrigerant.
City cost & eligibility
From $22 per appliance on the bulky item list, with a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner at 44.00. Oregon City addresses served by the franchisee, at the maximum rates the City Commission adopted.
When & how
Arrange the appliance pickup with the franchisee, and note that the inside pickup charge of 5.50 plus 9.90 for each flight of stairs applies if the unit has to be brought out.
Get it ready
Empty and defrost the unit, tell the franchisee whether it holds refrigerant so the higher line is quoted, and keep the appliance clear of the cart before the collection.
Extra material goes out two ways: small extras bill per item on the next regular bill under a 40 pound limit, while a genuine bulky item is booked as a scheduled pickup at a published price.
City cost & eligibility
$3.85 for for the first small extra bag under 20 gallons, with each additional small bag at 2.20, the first large bag over 20 gallons at 5.17 and each additional large bag at 3.52, an extra 20 gallon cart at 3.85 and an extra 35 gallon cart at 8.53, while a bulky item is priced separately at, for example, 16.50 for a couch, 22.00 for a treadmill, 11.00 for a car battery and 5.50 for a toilet. Oregon City addresses served by the franchisee, at the maximum rates the City Commission adopted.
When & how
Extra bags go out with the regular collection and are billed on the next regular bill, while a bulky item has to be scheduled with the franchisee in advance.
Get it ready
Bundle, bag or box the extra trash tightly and keep each piece under 40 pounds, place it next to the regular can, and book anything larger as a bulky pickup rather than leaving it at the curb.
One franchisee serves the city and the commission sets the rates
Oregon City regulates private haulers rather than collecting waste itself, and it has a solid waste franchise with Oregon City Garbage Company under Municipal Code 8.20. The City Commission sets the rates the franchisee may charge, and Resolution 26-16 adopted the current schedule effective July 1, 2026 with Exhibit A described as the maximum rates chargeable. Residential weekly rates are 30.47 for a 20 gallon cart, 38.67 for 35 gallons, 54.84 for 65 gallons and 59.43 for 95 gallons.
Large items are priced one by one, not by the cart
The adopted schedule keeps a bulky item list where each item has its own price, which is why two mattresses can cost different amounts and why a refrigerator is not treated like a stove. A dense foam king or queen mattress is 19.25 against 11.00 for an innerspring or light foam mattress, a box spring is 8.25, a couch is 16.50, a chair is 15.00, a treadmill is 22.00, an appliance is 22.00 and a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner is 44.00. A tire off the rim is 5.50, a car battery is 11.00 and a toilet is 5.50, and an inside pickup adds 5.50 plus 9.90 for each flight of stairs.
Extra trash bills per item and is capped at 40 pounds
Extra garbage can be arranged as a pickup of the cart, or as extra bags, cans or boxes, and each extra item is billed on the next regular bill. The extra trash must be tightly bundled, bagged or boxed and may not weigh over 40 pounds, and it goes next to the regular can. The schedule prices the first small bag under 20 gallons at 3.85 with each additional at 2.20, the first large bag over 20 gallons at 5.17 with each additional at 3.52, an extra 20 gallon cart at 3.85 and an extra 35 gallon cart at 8.53.
Oregon City works inside a regional system. Metro oversees the region's garbage and recycling and all solid waste generated inside Metro's boundary has to be taken to a Metro authorised designated facility, while Clackamas County provides the education and technical assistance through its recycle guide. The city also runs Recycle+, an opt-in programme for hard-to-recycle items charged at 2.50 a month plus 9.25 for each curbside collection event, which is the closest the schedule comes to a specialty recycling route.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Arrange it
Contact Oregon City Garbage Company to schedule the pickup, describe the items and their mattress or refrigerant type, and confirm whether the item has to be carried out so the inside pickup and stair charges can be quoted.
The city sets the maximum price rather than doing the work, no television or computer line appears on the list, and demurrage, gate and incidental service charges can be added on the schedule.

Order a scheduled container or drop box for a project
A household or contractor with a renovation, a demolition or a large cleanup load.
Cost & conditions
From $170 for for a 10 yard scheduled container service, rising to 180.00 for 20 yard, 210.00 for 30 yard and 250.00 for 40 yard, with drop box lines of 210.00, 220.00, 250.00 and 290.00, a 38.50 delivery fee and a 15% surcharge on all drop box disposal fees. Arrange it
Order the container from the franchisee before the work starts, confirm the size and the delivery fee, and keep the load free of refused material.
The disposal surcharge and demurrage charges sit on top of the container rate, a rejected load costs 55.00 and a dry run costs 36.00, and the container still has to go to a Metro authorised facility.

Opt into Recycle+ for hard to recycle items
A household with material that does not belong in the standard recycling cart and wants a scheduled collection instead of a trip.
Cost & conditions
$2.5 for as the monthly opt-in base charge, plus 9.25 for each curbside collection event, 11.70 for a non-curbside collection within 150 feet and 13.00 beyond that. Oregon City residential addresses served by the franchisee.
Arrange it
Ask the franchisee to add Recycle+ to the account, then set out the accepted hard-to-recycle items on the scheduled collection.
A paid opt-in billed monthly plus per collection, and the schedule does not list televisions or computers among the bulky items, so confirm the accepted material before enrolling.

Before you book
A few things worth knowing.
Bulk junk removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Oregon City.
How much does bulk junk removal cost in Oregon City?+
A trash bag is $59 as the first item and $10 additional. A filled household box is $59 as the first item. Add your actual items and quantities to see the combined price before booking. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; any applicable sales tax is shown before payment.
Can you pick up bags of junk today?+
Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the booked bags and boxes outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; the booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time.
Do I count every object inside a bag or box?+
No. Count the filled bags or boxes using the matching choice. Books and media go in Filled household box; clothes, bedding and shoes go in Bag of clothes & bedding; packed toys have a Box of toys choice. Empty cardboard is separate, with individual empty boxes and bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Heavy, oversized or unusual contents need a photo review before booking.
Can you pick up a small loose pile of household junk?+
Yes. Estimate how many trash bags the small household pile would fill, and bag or box as much as possible. Select furniture and other larger items separately. There is no extra charge just because the pile is loose. Send a photo first if the count or contents are unclear. A household Dumpster Bag choice does not accept construction debris.
Can I book bags, boxes and furniture together?+
Yes. Select the bags and boxes, then add each larger item using its own catalog choice. The booking shows one combined price for the selected items. Move everything to an accessible outdoor spot before pickup; indoor carrying and sorting are not included. Keep anything you want to retain apart from the booked items and identify what goes in your photos and notes.
How does Oregon City collect a couch?+
The city sets the rate and the franchisee, Oregon City Garbage Company, does the work. A couch is priced at 16.50 on the bulky item list, a chair is 15.00 and a file cabinet is 8.25, with an inside pickup adding 5.50 and 9.90 for each flight of stairs. Arrange the bulky pickup with the franchisee, rated at the maximum the City Commission adopted in Resolution 26-16 for July 1, 2026.Official guidance
What does Oregon City charge to haul an appliance?+
The adopted schedule prices an appliance at 22.00 and a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner at 44.00, with an inside pickup adding 5.50 and 9.90 for each flight of stairs. The franchisee, Oregon City Garbage Company, does the collection at those commission set maximum rates, which took effect on July 1, 2026 under Resolution 26-16.Official guidance
How does Oregon City handle extra bags and bulky items?+
Extra garbage is billed per item on the next regular bill: the first small bag under 20 gallons is 3.85 with each additional at 2.20, and the first large bag over 20 gallons is 5.17 with each additional at 3.52. Extra trash has to be tightly bundled, bagged or boxed, must not weigh over 40 pounds and goes next to the regular can. Larger items are booked as a scheduled bulky pickup, where a couch is 16.50, a treadmill is 22.00, an appliance is 22.00 and a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner is 44.00.Official guidance

One franchisee, Oregon City Garbage Company, serves the city under a solid waste franchise, and the City Commission sets the maximum rates it may charge through a resolution, with Resolution 26-16 adopting the current schedule from July 1, 2026. Residential weekly rates are 30.47 for a 20 gallon cart, 38.67 for 35 gallons, 54.84 for 65 gallons and 59.43 for 95 gallons.Official guidance
How do I get rid of a large item in Oregon City?+

An inside pickup adds 5.50 plus 9.90 for each flight of stairs.Official guidance
What will Oregon City not collect at the curb?+
The weekly cart takes household material, and extras have to be bundled, bagged or boxed, under 40 pounds and placed beside the can. Large items are never left out: they are booked as a bulky pickup at the adopted price list. The city publishes no television, computer or household hazardous waste line at all, so those items have to be confirmed with the city or the franchisee rather than set out, and the only chemical item with a published price is a car battery at 11.00.Official guidance
