Deschutes Recycling at Knott and the Negus, Northwest and Southwest transfer stations take appliances at eight dollars each, and a unit containing refrigerant costs twenty dollars, with a limit of four freon appliances per customer per day. Water heaters with fluids removed and microwaves sit at the same eight dollar rate.
City cost & eligibility
From $8 per appliance without refrigerant at the county transfer stations and Deschutes Recycling, where a refrigerator, freezer, air conditioner or other freon appliance is charged at twenty dollars each. County service open to residents, with a limit of four freon appliances per customer per day and fluids removed from water heaters before drop-off.
