Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Use a permitted outdoor spot with a clear path. Add a location photo and notes on your order page so the right entrance and the right items are easy to identify.

Construction and renovation debris

Special rules apply

Construction and demolition debris is not a bulky pickup category in Washington County. A large project such as a kitchen remodel or roof replacement goes into an on-site drop box from the collection company, and a self-haul load goes to a transfer station, where separated clean wood is cheaper than mixed debris.

City cost & eligibility
From $42 for minimum charge for a separated clean wood load up to 240 pounds at a Metro transfer station, with clean wood at $97.13 per ton. Mixed construction and demolition debris is charged at the garbage rate, which has a $51 minimum and runs $176.70 per ton, and a public customer at a staffed scale also pays a $30 transaction fee per load. Drop box pricing comes from your collection company.
When & how
Arrange a drop box or a transfer station trip rather than putting the material out for the weekly cart route.
Get it ready
Separate clean lumber, pallets and packing crates from painted, treated and engineered material, because clean wood has to be free of paint, stain, varnish, treatment, strapping, shrink wrap and hardware for the lower rate, while plywood, oriented strand board and particle board are charged as garbage. Cover the load, because an uncovered load pays extra at the scale.

Washington County Solid Waste & Recycling

Haul it to the Metro Central transfer station

A household with a mattress, electronics, a metal appliance, mixed debris or a load that the bulky item list prices too high.

Cost & conditions
From $51 for minimum charge for a garbage load up to 240 pounds at the general public scale, with heavier loads charged by the ton. Clean yard debris has a $37 minimum, separated clean wood a $42 minimum, coolant appliances are $30 each, and a public customer at a staffed scale also pays a $30 transaction fee per load. Mattresses, box springs, metal appliances and Oregon E-Cycles electronics are free from residential customers.
Arrange it
Load the vehicle, cover the load, take it to 6161 NW 61st Ave. in Portland during public hours, and pay at the scale.

Vehicles and anything with a drive motor, asbestos containing material, burned material and wildfire ash, flat or built up roofing, loads of liquids, petroleum contaminated soil, radioactive metals and electric vehicle batteries are refused.

Order a drop box for a renovation load

A household with a kitchen remodel, roof replacement or landscape clean up that will produce more debris than a pickup or a single vehicle trip.

Cost & conditions
Drop box pricing is set by the collection company rather than published in the county rate sheet, so ask the company that serves your address for the container size, the delivery charge and the disposal rate before the box is dropped.
Arrange it
Call your garbage and recycling company and order a drop box in the size the project needs, then have the load taken away when the box is full.

The box is placed on private property, the company sets the sizes and the terms, and construction and demolition debris is not part of the bulky item pickup list.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self-hauling from Rockcreek means a trip to a transfer station. Metro Central at 6161 NW 61st Ave. in Portland is open to the general public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and closes only on the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's days. Garbage is charged from a minimum upward and by the ton beyond 240 pounds, separated clean wood and clean yard debris cost less than mixed debris, coolant appliances and tires carry their own per item fees, and a public customer at the staffed scale pays a transaction fee per load. Mattresses, box springs and most metal appliances are free from households, and the station is an Oregon E-Cycles location with a seven item daily limit for computers, monitors, televisions and printers. Tires, mattresses, televisions and appliances are also on the collection company's bulky item list if you would rather not drive, and the county lists other transfer centres on the west side plus a drop-off finder tool for anything unusual. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Rockcreek.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Rockcreek?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Rockcreek?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Where does renovation debris go in Rockcreek?

Not on the bulky item pickup, because construction and demolition debris is not one of its categories. A large project goes into an on-site drop box from the collection company, and a load you carry yourself goes to a transfer station, where clean, separated lumber and pallets are charged at a lower rate than mixed debris and engineered wood such as plywood is charged as garbage.Official guidance

Who collects garbage in Rockcreek?

Rockcreek is unincorporated Washington County, so there is no city sanitation department. Washington County assigns a certificated garbage and recycling company to each address, sets the rates that company may charge, and publishes the company and the collection day through its Garbage and Recycling Day tool. Questions about a bill go to the collection company, and questions about the rates go to Solid Waste & Recycling at 503-846-3605.Official guidance
