Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

City cost & eligibility
No published rate covers an exercise machine. The large item program is free but limited to regular household items, so call 814-870-1550, describe the machine and confirm whether it can be scheduled as a large item or has to go to a private hauler, which sets its own price.
When & how
Call the Bureau of Refuse first, and if the machine is accepted book it on the same appointment route as furniture and put it out on the night of the scheduled collection.
Get it ready
Describe the machine and its size when calling, take it down as far as it comes apart so the crew can handle it, remove any console or battery pack, and keep it clear of parked vehicles. Nothing goes out without a confirmation number, and a machine that is not accepted belongs with a private hauler.
A large item is collected only when the resident schedules it on 814-870-1550 on a weekday between 08:30am and 04:30pm or through the online form for up to three items, and only after the six digit confirmation number arrives. The item goes curbside on the night of the scheduled collection, and setting anything out without a confirmation number or at another time is treated as illegal dumping and draws a citation.
