Televisions are listed with no charge on the scheduled bulky route and free within a three-piece Transfer Station appointment, and the monthly mattress and e-waste event collects computers and electronics free for residents. The event is open to non-residents for electronics as well.
When & how
Schedule a television with Public Works, take it to the Transfer Station appointment, or bring computers and electronics to the monthly event on the first Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the lot across from City Hall.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before a computer or drive leaves the house, keep cords and remotes with the device, and leave appliances, household trash and hazardous waste behind, because the event refuses all three. Keep electronics out of the refuse barrel.
Metal items, furniture, mattresses, box springs, appliances and televisions are only collected once they are scheduled with Public Works on 401-728-0500 ext. 233. Furniture is limited to three pieces a week, the larger pieces carry a published price, and everything else that will not fit a barrel can be taken to the Transfer Station with proof of Pawtucket residency.

From $10 for the $10 charge for a pickup, van or SUV load of up to three bags and for a rolled rug, with a small car load free, recyclable mattresses free up to three a day, non-recyclable mattresses at $25 each, tires over the free allowance at $15 each and propane over 20 pounds at $20. Pawtucket residents only, with a valid license showing a city address. Cash is accepted at the gate; card payments are made in advance through the city's online portal and proof of payment must be shown.
Arrange it
Go to 240 Grotto Avenue Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and use the appointment route for bulky items, refrigerators and freezers, furniture, televisions and metal.
Closed on holidays and during parking bans, and construction and commercial waste are refused outright, so a project load must go to the state campus instead.

Go to the lot across the street from City Hall on the first Saturday of the month, unless the city notes otherwise, between 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. The published 2026 examples include April 4 and May 2, so confirm the current date with Public Works.
Household trash, hazardous waste and appliances are not accepted, and the mattress collection is limited to Pawtucket residents, so a refrigerator has to use the scheduled route instead.
Drop recyclable mattresses or e-waste at a local partner
A household with a recyclable mattress or box spring, or with computers and electronics that it would rather drop off than schedule.

No charge. Tuff Stuff Recycling on Walcott Street takes recyclable mattresses and box springs free during its weekday hours with a maximum of eleven pieces per drop-off, and the city lists Green Tech Assets on Central Avenue for e-waste without publishing a fee there.

Take recyclable mattresses and box springs to Tuff Stuff Recycling at 345 Walcott Street, Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., or take electronics to Green Tech Assets at 1110 Central Avenue during business hours. Confirm each site before travelling.
Tuff Stuff takes recyclable mattress pieces only and caps a drop-off at eleven pieces, and the city publishes no fee for the Green Tech e-waste drop-off, so call ahead on 401-721-9996.
Pawtucket residents have two self-haul routes and one state route. The Transfer Station at 240 Grotto Avenue takes household bags, rugs, yard waste, cardboard, tires, white metal, air conditioners, mattresses, propane and motor oil from residents who show a city-address license, and it books bulky items, refrigerators and freezers, furniture, televisions and metal by appointment, but it refuses construction and commercial waste.
