Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named on the town list, the county recycling page or the county centre page, even though bulky household items are accepted. A machine therefore has to be checked with the county before it is loaded, and it should not be assumed that a treadmill qualifies simply because it is bulky.

Break the machine down as far as it comes apart, keep the frame, deck and console parts together, and keep it separate from bagged household garbage so the gate can see what the load contains.
There is no island curbside route, so the centre is the answer
The town's waste pages cover litter and recycling in public spaces rather than a municipal collection route, and the county tells commercial businesses to contract a private hauler. Households bring their material to the county Convenience Center on Summit Drive, where the gate requires a Beaufort County solid waste decal for anything that is not recyclable. The public bins in parks and on the beach are not a household route: they take bottles and cans only.
