Scrap metal

Special rules apply

Loose scrap metal is not named by the city, and the county fee list covers white goods rather than metal, so the drop-off yards and the landfill have to confirm the load.

City cost & eligibility
Neither the city nor the county publishes a scrap metal price. Confirm what the receiving yard will take and what it charges before you load.
When & how
Use the Urbane Road or Peerless Road recycling yard during its published hours, or call the county landfill before a self-haul trip.
Get it ready
Separate metal cans from other material, remove batteries, glass, plastic and anything holding refrigerant, and wrap sharp or protruding edges so the load is safe to handle.

City of Cleveland Public Works and Bradley County

Self-haul to the Bradley County Landfill

Households with white goods, batteries, used oil or tires, or with recyclables that the county yard takes.

Cost & conditions
The county states that batteries, used oil, white goods and tires are recycled for a fee but publishes no amount. Confirm the fee and the hours before the trip.
Arrange it
Drive to 282 Nature's Trail in McDonald, open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The county recycling yards no longer accept electronics, and the landfill takes recyclables plus the fee items listed above rather than household garbage.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Two systems cover this address. Inside the city, Public Works runs the weekly bulk, brush and yard-waste routes, and it loans a dump truck once a month for regular junk, free of charge and unavailable in November and December; demolition debris, hazardous material, tires, block, concrete, dirt and shingles stay out of both. Outside that route, Bradley County recycles white goods, batteries, used oil and tires for a fee at the landfill on Nature's Trail in McDonald, and runs two recycling yards in Cleveland for glass, paper, cans and plastics. Household garbage is a separate contracted service through Waste Connections rather than a city route, and the county facilities no longer accept electronics. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Scrap metal removal, from your photo request to the pickup plan in Cleveland.

How do I request a scrap metal pickup quote?

Text photos to (844) 879-0892 with your ZIP code, approximate amount and access details. Show the whole pile and a closer view of the material. Our team will confirm the scope, quote and scheduling.

Do you buy scrap metal or pick it up for free?

This is a request for a paid removal quote, not a scrap-buying or free-collection offer. If you want to sell metal, ask a local recycler about its accepted materials and delivery requirements.

How much does scrap metal removal cost?

This service uses a custom quote. Send photos, the approximate amount, your ZIP code and access details. Our team confirms the scope and price before booking; there is no fixed-price catalog item for this pile.

Can you collect it today?

Tell our team your preferred day when you request the quote. Timing depends on the material, amount and access, and is confirmed with your quote. Sending photos does not reserve same-day pickup.

Do the Bradley County yards take metal cans?

Yes. The Urbane Road and Peerless Road facilities list aluminium drink cans and steel food cans among their accepted material, along with glass, paper, cell phones and plastics 1 and 2. Loose scrap beyond cans is not listed, so confirm it first.Official guidance
