When & how
Request the bulk pickup online, do not put items at the curb more than five days before pickup, and beat the 3:30 p.m. Wednesday cutoff before the pickup week. The published 2026 dates are July 10, August 14, September 4, October 9, November 6 and December 11, and requests after the cutoff move to the next month's list.
Get it ready
Put the furniture at the street where the truck can reach it, keep it clear of the regular can, and call 615-452-2147 before setting anything out that is not on the published eligible list, because the city says its list is not complete and the monthly truck will not take refused material.
Garbage is collected Monday through Thursday. The can goes to the curb by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled day and comes back within twenty four hours, the handles face away from the street, the lid must close completely, and three feet of clearance is left around the can. Yard waste, construction material such as bricks and rocks, tires and hazardous material such as paint, gasoline and needles are refused, and two free courtesy dumps a calendar year cover a can that was out late, an extra pickup or a can positioned incorrectly.
