The local disposal guide
Johnson City runs its own solid waste service. Garbage billing is set up with water service, the cart goes out by 6 a.m. on the collection day and drivers take only what is inside it, while furniture and appliance pickups are scheduled with the Street Division. Electronics drop off at the Solid Waste Services Complex on New Street during business hours, and building material, carpet and other heavy loads are the property owner's responsibility with the City pointing to the county convenience centers and the Iris Glen Environmental Center.
