When & how

Get it ready
Break the machine down as far as it will come apart so the pile stays inside the size limit, tie the cord and loose parts to the frame, remove any battery pack so it is handled separately, and keep the machine out of the recycling cart, which refuses metal items such as pots and pans and garden hoses.
