Choose the right items

One computer setup can be several items.

A separate monitor and tower count separately. Small devices and cables have their own box option. Choose what is actually leaving so your price matches the pickup.

Monitor, desktop or laptop.

Choose Computer monitor for each separate display. Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. A laptop is its own item. Add only the devices going.

Printer or office copier.

A printer with a built-in scanner belongs under Printer. A floor-standing copy machine belongs under Office copier. The shape matters more than the brand.

A box of smaller electronics.

Use Box of electronics for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. For a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries, send a photo and confirm the fit before booking.

Computers and other electronics

Accepted with preparation

Computers, monitors, printers, phones and similar electronics are refused at the curb and go either to the free Brazos Valley hazardous waste events or to the landfill's electronics recycling stream.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. The household hazardous waste events in April and October are free to Brazos Valley residents and take computers, laptops, keyboards, monitors, printers, scanners, fax machines, phones, VCRs, DVD and CD players, microwaves and gaming systems. A landfill drop-off instead pays the published gate rate, which is 32 dollars per ton with a 3 dollar minimum for municipal solid waste.
When & how
Take the equipment to the spring or fall household hazardous waste event, or to the Twin Oaks Landfill during business hours, and keep all electronics out of the trash cart in the meantime.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from drives and phones, bring cords and accessories with the device, and never put electronics in the trash cart because the residential rules refuse them.

City of Bryan Solid Waste Department with the Brazos Valley Solid Waste Management Agency

Haul the load to the Twin Oaks Landfill

A household with an appliance, a computer or monitor, or a load over the weekly bulky allowance that it would rather drive than spread across weeks.

Cost & conditions
From $3 per ton of municipal solid waste at the gate, with a minimum charge for a small load. The published standard tipping fee is 32 dollars per ton with a 3 dollar minimum, and extra special fees apply: 5 dollars for a tire up to 24.5 inches, 20 dollars for a larger tire, and 11 dollars per freon unit in addition to the tipping fee, with a 30 dollar charge possible for an unsecured load.
Arrange it
Cover and secure the load before arriving, drive it to the landfill during business hours, and tell the scale attendant about any special item such as a freon unit or tires.

The gate is a charged route rather than a free drop-off, loads have to be secured or they draw an extra fee, and special waste needs prior approval from the agency before it can be accepted.

City of Bryan Solid Waste Department with the Brazos Valley Solid Waste Management Agency

Use the free Brazos Valley hazardous waste event

A Brazos Valley household with paint, chemicals, batteries, bulbs, flammables, pool chemicals or used electronics.

Cost & conditions
No charge. The Twin Oaks household hazardous waste collection is free to residents of the Brazos Valley and runs once each April and once each October.
Arrange it
Take the material to the Twin Oaks Landfill site on the event date and follow the event map and lane instructions published by the agency.

Two events a year only, medications are no longer accepted, and anything the agency has not listed should be checked by phone at 979-764-3832 before it is loaded.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Bryan's curb takes more than most cities and then stops: chemicals, project debris and anything past 22 cubic yards a week have to leave another way. Household chemicals and a long list of electronics go to the free Brazos Valley household hazardous waste events at the Twin Oaks Landfill each April and October, and the landfill itself accepts appliances, electronics, tires and general loads at published gate rates with a separate fee for a freon unit. Closer to home, the city's own Used Oil and Tire Recycling Center at 1111 Waco Street takes residential used oil, filters, cooking grease and up to eight tires a visit free for residents, and curbside recycling in Bryan comes from permitted private vendors rather than the city. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Electronics removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Bryan.

How much does electronics pickup cost in Bryan?

A computer monitor is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Choose the actual devices and quantities to see your combined price online. A separate desktop tower and monitor are separate items. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; review the total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can you pick up old electronics today in Bryan?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout and have the prepared items outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done. The booking is for a day, not an exact arrival time.

Does computer removal include my monitor and printer?

Desktop computer covers one tower or one all-in-one computer. Add a separate monitor, printer or laptop as its own item if it is going too. For small devices, cables and chargers together, choose Box of electronics and check the description before booking.

Do you erase data from old computers?

Data erasure and certified data destruction are not included in Dropcurb removal. Back up the information you need, then follow the manufacturer’s sign-out and reset instructions before pickup. If a device cannot be erased or contains sensitive business information, arrange suitable data handling before giving it away. Completion photos confirm the pickup, not data destruction.Official guidance

Can I book one box of old cables and small electronics?

Yes. Box of electronics is an existing option for small devices, cables and chargers together in one box. A monitor, desktop computer and printer each have their own item option. Send a photo before booking for a large or heavy box, unusual contents or separate batteries so we can confirm the fit.

Where do old computers and monitors go in Bryan?

Two routes. The free Brazos Valley household hazardous waste events in April and October take computers, laptops, keyboards, monitors, printers, scanners, fax machines, phones, VCRs, DVD and CD players, microwaves and gaming systems. The Twin Oaks Landfill also recycles computers, monitors, car batteries and appliances at the gate. Electronics are prohibited in the Bryan trash cart, so they never go out with the container.Official guidance
