Keep the mattress out of the cart, count it as one of the seven weekly items, and keep it dry because wet cardboard or paper is refused on the same list.
Cedar Park lets a household set up to seven bags or bulk items outside the trash cart each week, on the normal service day and next to the green cart. A secondary truck services anything that does not fit the cart, and the city warns that it may arrive before or after the automated truck, which is why a bulk item that seems missed can still be collected later the same day. Items that cannot go in the cart include hazardous material, televisions, tires, dirt, rocks, concrete, batteries, roofing shingles, ammunition, explosives, propane tanks, wet paper and construction debris.

Will Cedar Park take a mattress?+
Yes. Mattresses are on the city's acceptable bulk item list, so one rides the weekly seven item allowance outside the cart and is collected on the normal service day by the secondary truck that handles oversized items. How do I get rid of a large item in Cedar Park?+
Put it out as one of the seven bags or bulk items a household may set outside the cart each week, next to the green trash cart on the normal service day. Furniture, mattresses, washers, dryers and stoves are accepted, a refrigerator has to be refrigerant free with the door removed and a freezer or air conditioner has to be tagged by a licensed refrigerant technician, and a secondary truck picks the load up.
