City cost & eligibility
From $52 per ton tipping fee at the Hunter Ferrell Landfill effective October 1, 2025, charged at 13 dollars for every quarter ton. The free daily drop-off covers limited household items under 150 pounds with matching identification and an Irving utility bill, so construction and demolition loads pay the tipping fee instead. Roll-off container rental is the alternative the City publishes for large piles.

Separate recyclable and clean material before the trip, because leaves, grass clippings, brush, recyclables and clean dirt, brick or gravel must be free of contamination to drop free. Roofing material needs a roofing permit with the name and address matching the driver's licence, and chemicals, flammable liquids and unidentifiable waste are refused at the gate.
Irving picks up trash twice a week and recycling, brush and up to four bulky items once a week, with published bag, bundle and pile rules.
