Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Ready for pickup

Ready outside. Taken from there.

Your TV can stay inside while you book. Before pickup, arrange to have it disconnected, taken down if mounted and moved to an accessible outdoor spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival appointment. If your building allows only a short loading window, contact us before booking to confirm a workable plan.

Your place. One easy pickup plan.

A house, a condo or an apartment. Choose an accessible outdoor spot that works for your property. You arrange the move outside; we take it from there.

Text us about your setup
  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronic waste is not a curbside item, but the city's free Trash Off events and the X-treme Green events take computers, kitchen appliances, televisions and other used electronics.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Free to Lancaster residents at the quarterly Trash Off events and the two X-treme Green events each year, with proof of residency required. Household hazardous waste, automotive tires, household metal goods, document shredding and used electronics are the X-treme Green streams.
When & how
Trash Off runs four times a year in the odd months at 1501 N. Dallas Avenue next to Regions Bank, and Community Waste Disposal hosts two X-treme Green events a year alongside them. Confirm the next date and the accepted list with the city code compliance division at 972-218-1213.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers, phones and drives before handover, and keep electronics out of the grey and blue carts and out of the bulk pile, because electronic waste is not on the acceptable bulk list. Televisions are named as accepted at the events, so those are the route for a screen.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Chemicals, tires, batteries and propane never go in the pile

Household hazardous waste such as paint, motor oil and pool chemicals, along with tires, batteries and propane tanks, are prohibited in the brush and bulk collection and in the carts. Commercial construction and remodeling debris is prohibited as well, and loose household debris has to be boxed in a container no larger than two feet by two feet by four feet and no heavier than fifty pounds.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Lancaster households split their disposal between the curbside programme and the city's own events. Trash and recycling are weekly in the grey and blue carts, brush and bulk are every other month by side of Pleasant Run Road, and a load that cannot wait can go free to the hauler's transfer station on California Crossing inside a twelve cubic yard allowance. Furniture, appliances, bundled carpet, fence panels, bagged leaves and brush are the accepted bulk categories, while chemicals, tires, batteries, propane and construction debris are refused, and a refrigerator or freezer has to be tagged certifying removal of refrigerants first. The free Trash Off events in the odd months and the two X-treme Green events are where electronics, household chemicals, automotive tires, scrap metal and shredding go, and the Dallas County chemical centre on Plano Road covers the months between events for a household with chemicals to drop. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Lancaster.

How much does TV removal cost in Lancaster?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Lancaster?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do Lancaster televisions and electronics go?

To one of the city's free events rather than the curb. Trash Off runs four times a year in the odd months at 1501 N. Dallas Avenue and takes electronic waste such as computers, kitchen appliances and televisions, and Community Waste Disposal hosts two X-treme Green events a year alongside them with used electronics, household hazardous waste, automotive tires, household metal goods and document shredding.
