Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Exercise equipment is not named in Laredo's acceptable bulky item list, which names furniture, mattresses, box springs, carpets, swing sets, plastic pools, large toys, bicycles and large household appliances. A machine therefore has to be confirmed with the city before it is set out.

When & how
Confirm the item first, then set it out on the assigned bulky day if the city accepts it, rather than on the normal cart day.
Get it ready
Break the machine down as far as it comes apart, tape the cables and keep the frame, deck and console parts together, and keep it inside the right of way with ten feet of clearance from cars, meters and overhead lines.
Bulky items go out by appointment, with room around them
Bulky collection is booked as a work order rather than put out on the normal cart day, and households paying the residential garbage fee get two free collections a year with up to four items in each. The pile has to sit inside the right of way, at least ten feet from parked cars, mailboxes, connection boxes, water meters, fences, walls, power lines and overhanging trees, and it must never block a sidewalk, cover the street surface or obstruct traffic.
