Finish clearing the space
The last few things still deserve a pickup.
You have decided what is going. Now give those bags and boxes a pickup day, with a price you can see before anyone arrives.
The move is nearly done.
Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
The clear-out can be finished.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.
You want to know it is handled.
When the next collection does not fit your plans, choose a Dropcurb pickup day. Updates keep you informed, and completion photos show when the booked items are gone.
A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Filled bags and boxes
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard and containers
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Furniture and other larger items
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

The Solid Waste Division collects items too large or bulky for the normal trash pickup every week, Monday through Friday by area, at the front curb only, with a cap of eight cubic yards and a 24-hour set-out window.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included with residential solid waste service. An administrative fee of $6 applies for bulk placed out earlier than the 24-hour window, and $20 applies for a pile that exceeds eight cubic yards.
When & how
Put the pile at the front curb, never the alley, no later than 7:30 a.m. on the collection day and no earlier than 24 hours before it. The collection day is Monday through Friday depending on the area.
Get it ready
Keep the load inside eight cubic yards, about five feet tall by four feet deep by eleven feet long, separate large brush from bulky items, keep the sidewalk clear, and note that bricks, concrete, rocks, dirt, paint, oils and hazardous containers are not taken on this route.
Mesquite does not name furniture on the bulky page, which is written as items too large or bulky for the normal pickup with an eight cubic yard cap, so the piece is confirmed with the division first.
City cost & eligibility
The bulky collection is part of the residential service with no per-item charge, but the city publishes no furniture item list, so call the Solid Waste Division on 972-216-6285 and confirm that the piece is collected before it goes to the curb.
When & how
Call 972-216-6285 to confirm the piece, then put it at the front curb no later than 7:30 a.m. on the bulky collection day and no earlier than 24 hours before it.
Get it ready
Keep the piece inside the eight cubic yard allowance, keep it clear of the sidewalk, and keep bricks, concrete, rocks, dirt, paint, oils and hazardous containers out of the pile.
No Mesquite page names a mattress. It has to be confirmed against the eight cubic yard bulky allowance before it is set out.
City cost & eligibility
No mattress rule or per-item price is published. Call the Solid Waste Division on 972-216-6285 and confirm whether the mattress and box spring are collected on the weekly bulky route, where the limit is eight cubic yards with an administrative fee for an over-limit pile.
When & how
Call 972-216-6285 first, then use the weekly bulky collection day if the set is confirmed, at the front curb and within the 24-hour set-out window.
Get it ready
Keep the set dry and out of the trash container, keep it inside the eight cubic yard allowance, and do not mix paint, chemicals, concrete or dirt into the pile.
Refrigerators, washers, dryers and other appliances
Accepted with preparation
The Solid Waste Department picks up refrigerators, dishwashers, clothes washers and dryers, hot water heaters, stoves, lawnmowers and other household appliances every Wednesday at no additional charge, from the alley or the front curb.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Mesquite residential accounts, at no additional charge, with the collection requested before the Wednesday route.
When & how
Call 972-216-6285 or use the myMesquite app before Wednesday, then put the appliance out on Wednesday at the alley or the front curb as directed.
Get it ready
Empty the unit and keep it reachable from the collection point, and note that the appliance collection is separate from the large bulky route, which excludes concrete, dirt, paint, oils and hazardous containers.
