Large household items that will not fit the cart leave on a bulky collection the township provides as a courtesy at no additional cost, booked with Waste Management at least two business days before the normal service day. The accepted and refused lists are firm, and the service is not offered on selected Mondays and Fridays because of the bulky cardboard schedule.

Get it ready
Break basketball goals down into the goal, main tube and base with the pole cut into four foot sections, cut long items such as poles and playground equipment into four foot sections, bundle carpet into four foot bundles with a limit of two, tie fencing or decking into up to two bundles of five boards no longer than six feet, box and tape a toilet shut, and tag a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner as certified freon free.
Appliances are bulky items, and a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner carries one extra requirement: the unit has to be tagged as certified freon free before it goes out. The county facility takes freon units by drop off for a fee as the alternative.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. Included in the courtesy bulky oversized collection at no additional cost, booked with Waste Management at least two business days before the service day, but a refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner is accepted only with a tag certifying it is freon free, which a private appliance or air conditioning company has to provide; Montgomery County Precinct 3 takes freon items by drop off for a fee.

Get it ready
Empty the appliance, tape the doors shut so nothing can be trapped inside, keep a cooling unit upright, and attach the freon free tag so the driver can see it. Some large waste pickup companies also collect units with freon for a fee if the township collection is not booked in time.
Trash, recycling and yard trimmings all go out by 7 a.m. on the weekly service day, with clear access for the trucks and the trimmings at least four feet from the carts. Trash stays in the green-lidded cart and recycling in the yellow-lidded cart, clean, dry, empty and loose with cardboard flattened, and Waste Management answers a green tag violation on the next service day rather than returning.
