  1. Check what your delivery includes.

If a new mattress is arriving, check whether your retailer is taking the old one. If you need Dropcurb, choose a day when you can have it outside. A delivery window and a pickup day are different arrangements.

  2. Arrange the trip outside.

Plan for doorways, elevators and interior stairs before pickup day. You arrange any indoor carrying. Use a permitted outdoor location and keep entrances and the walking path open.

  3. Make the right mattress easy to find.

Twice a week trash routes split at the Kell Freeway

The City collects household trash twice a week, with Monday and Thursday for addresses north of the Kell Freeway and Tuesday and Friday for addresses south of it. Containers go out no later than 7 a.m. on the collection day, the cart is set at the curb clear of power lines and tree limbs with the wheels facing the house, and the ordinance requires limbs near the collection point to be trimmed to the published clearance so the automated vehicle is not damaged.

Bulky material is booked, not set out on the trash morning

The payload bulk service is requested from the Sanitation Office on 940-761-7977 and is charged as an initial trip charge plus a loading fee for each minute of loading time. All material has to be at the curb or at a location the Sanitation superintendent approves, at least five feet from any horizontal obstruction and 13.5 feet from any vertical obstruction. The published examples are bulky waste, home furnishing such as chairs, tables, couches and mattresses, white goods such as washers, dryers and stoves, and construction and demolition debris such as carpet, padding, dismantled fences, sinks and commodes, and white goods must be separated so a vehicle with a mechanical boom and grapple can lift them.

Landfill loads have to be secured

City ordinance requires every load taken to the landfill to be secured, and an unsecured load can draw a fine. The landfill at 10984 Wiley Road refuses oils and oil filters, hazardous materials and vehicle tires of any type, and it charges construction and demolition material and organic material by weight for loads that do not come from the household's own primary residence.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Mattress removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Wichita Falls.

How much does mattress removal cost in Wichita Falls?

The price depends on the mattress size you choose. A queen mattress is $99 as the first item and $30 as an additional item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Add any box spring or frame separately, then review your total and any applicable tax before payment.

Can I book same-day mattress pickup in Wichita Falls?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates shown at checkout. Have the mattress outside and accessible according to your confirmation. Your booking is for a day rather than an exact arrival time, and we text you when your hauler is on the way.

Is my box spring or bed frame included in mattress removal?

The mattress price covers the mattress only. Add your box spring, bed frame or adjustable base separately if those are going too. Choose the size and type that match each item. The combined price appears before booking.

Will you carry my mattress downstairs or out of my apartment?

Dropcurb starts outside. You arrange to move the mattress out of your apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load it and take it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Check your building’s access rules before arranging the move outside.

Can you pick up my old mattress when my new one arrives?

You can choose an offered pickup day around your replacement delivery. First check whether the retailer already includes old-mattress removal, and arrange who will bring it outside if needed. Dropcurb books a pickup day, not the retailer’s delivery window. Contact us before booking if access is limited to a short time.

Does the City take mattresses?

Yes, a mattress is listed among the home furnishing items the City payload bulk service collects, alongside chairs, tables and couches. The pickup is requested through the Sanitation Office on 940-761-7977 and is charged as an initial trip charge plus a loading fee for each minute of loading time.Official guidance

Who collects trash and bulky items in Wichita Falls?

The department office is at 200 Sunset Drive and the request line is 940-761-7977.Official guidance

What does a bulky pickup cost?

The request goes to the Sanitation Office on 940-761-7977, and the material has to be at the curb or another approved location with at least five feet of horizontal clearance and 13.5 feet of vertical clearance.Official guidance

Which items does the City name for the bulky service?

The published examples are bulky waste, home furnishing such as chairs, tables, couches and mattresses, white goods or appliances such as washers, dryers and stoves, and construction and demolition debris such as carpet, padding, dismantled fences, sinks and commodes. White goods have to be separated from the rest so a vehicle with a mechanical boom and grapple can lift them, and exercise equipment and electronics are not on the list, so those need to be confirmed with the Sanitation Office on 940-761-7977.Official guidance

What does the residential account include?

The residential schedule lists a monthly minimum for curb cart service of 18.27 dollars, alley dumpster service at 27.30 dollars a month, and carry-out service at 46.25 dollars from ten to fifty feet, 56.50 dollars from fifty to one hundred feet and 67.10 dollars beyond one hundred feet, with a weekly recycling container fee of 3.32 dollars that is not collected on holidays.
