Separate the material into distinct piles: brush no longer than seven feet and no thicker than six inches, with bamboo placed with the other debris rather than the brush; metal appliances with any airtight doors removed; tires off their rims and no larger than 19 inches inside diameter, eight at most per household and none from commercial, racing or farm use; and other debris such as bamboo and miscellaneous household junk. Put everything at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of the week, bag leaves during the cleanup window, and keep it all reachable from the public right of way.

Cleanup items go to the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your quadrant's scheduled week, and the week is split: brush and yard debris are collected on one day while metal, tires and other bulky items are collected on another. Do not add items after the crew has been through.
Brush, metal appliances, tires and other debris are separate piles. Brush is limited to seven feet by six inches, metal appliances go out with airtight doors removed, tires come off their rims at 19 inches or less inside diameter with a maximum of eight per household, and bamboo goes with the other debris rather than with the brush.
Items have to be accessible from the public right of way, because the town does not enter private property, parking lots or driveways to remove them. Anything placed near mailboxes, water meters, fire hydrants or posts that could be damaged will not be collected, and the town is not responsible for damage there.

Self-hauling from Blacksburg has two obvious destinations. Montgomery County's consolidated waste sites take refuse and recycling free from county residents, and the town lists ten of them with addresses and phone numbers, including Coal Bank Hollow on Coal Bank Hollow Road, though hours are not published so a call first is wise.
