Get it ready
Secure television glass so it cannot spill, remove batteries that come out of a device and take lithium and rechargeable batteries to the transfer station rather than the cart, deliver drop offs in a personal vehicle that carries no company logo, expect a limit of five items per visit, and note that commercial loads are not accepted.
Overflow trash and bulk waste have to be scheduled, and the request has to reach the city no later than 3 p.m. the day before the collection day. Residents use the MyNorfolk app or portal, email, or Norfolk Cares at (757) 664-6510, and the collection then happens on the normal trash day. A pile that was never scheduled may draw a Notice of Violation, and a scheduled pickup the crew misses is taken the following week.
