Supercans have a four o'clock and a seven o'clock rule

Schedule an appliance collection

A household with an appliance that needs to leave the address rather than be driven to a gate.

$50 per appliance or request for a city appliance collection, arranged through 311 or by mail with the service address. City of Richmond residents. The city notes that the same appliances, bulk and brush can be disposed of free by city residents who take them to the East Richmond Road Convenience Center or the Southside Transfer Station.

The East Richmond Road Convenience Center at 3800 East Richmond Road opens Monday through Friday from 7 am to 3:30 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am to 2 pm, taking household trash and a limited amount of bulk, yard waste and brush in natural wood only, tires without rims up to four, and small appliances, with no commercial vehicles and no contractor material, dirt, rocks or concrete. The Richmond Southside Transfer Station at 3520 North Hopkins Road opens Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday from 8:30 am to 2 pm, is closed Sundays and holidays, answers on 804-232-8488, and takes large bulk items such as furniture, brush and yard waste, appliances and large items, with tires without rims limited to four at a dollar each beyond the allowance and five dollars for tractor trailer tires, plus glass bottles, cardboard, aluminum cans and newspapers for recycling. No commercial vehicles, and no commercial or contractor items or debris. Dirt, rocks and concrete are refused, and brush has to be natural wood with no plywood or treated wood. Bulk and brush material is free for city residents.

Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Commercial or contractor debris is refused. Tires without rims are limited to four, with a 1 dollar charge for each passenger tire beyond four and 5 dollars for tractor trailer tires, and commercial vehicles are not part of the household programme.
