Supercans have a four o'clock and a seven o'clock rule
Cans go out no earlier than 4 pm the day before collection and no later than 6 am on collection day, and they come back in by 7 am the day after. Cans left in the public right of way outside those times can draw a 50 dollar fine under City Code Section 86-44, and recycling receptacles are subject to the same warning and fine routine.
Residential trash is collected once a week Monday through Thursday, and it has to be inside a city-issued supercan; items in non-issued containers are not collected and draw a violation notice under City Code Section 86-81.
