Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.

Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

Bulky collection is on the calendar rather than on request. Bulk and brush run every other week on the trash day of the recycling week, the pile goes where the household trash waits, and the city's own code section is what sets the day. A household that cannot wait can buy a 24-hour request instead.
Furniture is bulk material on both city routes. It goes out with the bi-weekly bulk round on the trash day of the recycling week, and the Southside Transfer Station names large bulk items such as furniture among what it receives.
A mattress rides the same bulk routes as furniture. The city publishes a prohibited list rather than an accepted list, and a mattress is not on it, so bedding goes out with the bi-weekly bulk round or free at either self haul site. Because the piece is not named, an unusual set is worth a call to 311.
Appliances have their own published price on the curbside route and a free route at the gates. The city charges 50 dollars per appliance or request to collect one from the address, arranged through 311, and city residents can instead drop appliances free at either self haul site.
Electronics have no curbside route and must never go in either bin. The regional authority handles them through special collection events, where fees apply to some items, so the household checks the authority's calendar rather than leaving a device at the curb.
Construction material is shut out of every residential route. It is prohibited in the bi-weekly bulk and brush pile, both self haul sites refuse commercial or contractor debris, and dirt, rocks and concrete are refused at the gates as well.
Exercise equipment is not named on either city page, so a machine is a confirmation rather than a published route even though the bulk round takes general bulky material and the transfer station receives large items.
