Choose by construction, not height alone. A basic desk is different from a heavy desk with a substantial body. A tall, lightweight bookcase can still be a standard bookshelf. Empty it first.

Secure the load, because the county adds a fee for an unsecured load, and sort clean wood, scrap metal, cardboard and yard waste before arrival, because the station does not accept them as garbage. Vehicles plus trailers are limited to a combined 40 feet.

From $40.25 for minimum garbage charge up to 320 pounds at a King County transfer station, with lower minimum rates for separated clean wood and yard waste and a per ton rate above 320 pounds.
