The city runs a Community Cleanup once in the spring and once in the fall at the Lakewood Transfer Station, 3869 94th St SW, and the fall 2026 event runs Saturday October 24 and Sunday October 25 from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. with the last vehicle admitted at 1:45 p.m. It is free for Lakewood residents who show a utility bill or identification, and the accepted list covers tires off their rims, bicycles, furniture, grills, appliances, recyclables and bagged garbage. Paint goes to PaintCare drop-offs, glass goes to the county drop-off points rather than the recycling cart, and the Pierce County recycling menu covers televisions, chemicals, needles and medications.
